>19 rainpebble: We are very flexible in this group, you can use it anyway you want to - if you want to track something you can set up a thread to do it.
I am using it this year in 3 ways:
1. A thread for my reading log for this year where I keep a record of all the books I've read, the number of books, pages, ratings etc. I also do a monthly summary on this thread at the end of each month.
2. My 14 x 12 Challenge - where I track reading under 14 different categories with the aim to read at least 12 in each category. Others choose to do a 12 x 12, or 5x 12 or any combination that suits them.
3. I have set up a thread to track the different series I am in the middle of, the aim to get up to date in more series. A never ending task!
We also have a thread to share with others reviews of books Read in the month (a review can be as simple as a single sentence statement about a book we have read). The aim is to discuss these books.
We also have a mini challenge each month where we aim to read three different books in three different genres or sub genres.
Basically people can use it how they want to - the overarching aim is to discuss books with like minded people.

Thank you so much, Sir Andrew. That has simplified the goals here very much. I shan't be such a 'nervous nellie' now. lol
I really quite like it here.

Growing up in Atlanta, I read The Heart is a Lonely Hunter in high school. Honestly, it was almost too much for a teenage mind to grasp. I'm very glad YA is now a recognized genre.
I found All Over but the Shoutin' to be a great (though troubling) read, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings a very, very lyrical book.
Oh, and Prodigal Summer was another great Barbara Kingsolver book. I think I listened to most of this as an audiobook. Great use of accents for the characters.
I'll be looking for your reviews of the Grisham and Whistle Stop. Keep all these posts coming!
