This is the book that set back education 1,000 years. Here Dewey elucidates his ideas about what is acceptable in religion and how it is to be excluded from the classrooms of America. This became the handbook of the NEA and the ACLU. There is nothing "common" or "faith"ful about this book. reducing all religions to things held in common and excluding all that makes each faith unique, Dewey made mush of all truth claims. ( )
