“Angry God” by L. J. Shen was one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. I was so emotional with all the trauma and my heart broke for Vaughn towards the end of the book. It seriously took turns that I saw coming but absolutely didn’t at the same time. I cannot explain how amazing this book actually was and will forever have a place in my soul. 5 out of 5 stars and I’d give it more if I could.… (more)

“Thorne Princess,” by L. J. Shen

A really good bodyguard x Influencer book. It had a lot of tropes like learning difficulties, SA trauma, light BDSM, age gap, etc. I really liked the push and pull between the two main characters. The entire book was mainly the mundane day to day with the two characters with some stalking, action, and other characters mixed in sporadically. Good for audiences that love bodyguard romances. 4 out of 5 stars.

“Bane,” by L.J. Shen

Jesse is struggling with social anxiety after a group of guys hurt her, until Bane shows up randomly in her life. Bane is struggling to find investors for his dream business he wants to open, and then a deal falls into his lap and also a lonely, mysterious girl that caught his eye long ago. Both are trying to heal from how the world sees them and might be able to heal each other.

I liked this book. It was a bit slow at times, but I liked the characters. I like the relationship with the mafia type feel but on a tropical island and all the overcoming traumas. It was very character driven and the plot was a secondary aspect like most romance books. 3 out of 5 stars.

“Being sorry for breaking something doesn’t make it whole again.”

“Pretty Reckless,” by L.J. Shen

This was a good bully romance. I would consider it on the lighter side of bully romances and not overly dark. There are a ton of moving parts in the book beyond the relationship with the couple and it has an inappropriate teacher x student relationship, a sister that caused problems with the main couple, forced proximity, different social classes, and tons of trauma that has been simmering for years. The girl being a bully mean girl was different than others I’ve read so that was fresh. I really liked it, and I can’t wait to read more books in this series, 4 out of 5 stars.
