Binette Schroeder

This book had a cute story line and the illustrations were really cool but I personally feel like there are a few holes in the story. When I read it to my student, she was kinda confused about certain parts of the story so I would probably not use this book again.

I had an autographed copy of this excellent picture book when I was a child. First published in 1971, it tells the story of the farm horse Florian, who is being replaced as a plough horse by a tractor. But when the tractor gets bogged down in the mud, it is Florian alone who is able to pull him out. A wonderful story about how modern agriculture should not disdain traditional methods of farming, and how modern and traditional methods can be used in conjunction with one another.
