American Animated Cartoon, The - a Critical Anthology by Gerald Peary
A nicely-done critique and anthology of American cartoons. Includes an early history of animation, critiques on many cartoon creators and interviews with some of them, and chapters on such topics as "Women and Cartoon Animation". A good book, and I wish that someday somebody would put out a modern sequel to fill in the last 20 years of animation. Some illustrations, but mostly text.
