“Magic and Medicine” by Olena Nikitin was a fantastic and confusing book. I really liked the Norse mythology that’s mixed with other fantasy monsters like vampires, werewolves, and witches. The world building is confusing sometimes, especially with the antagonists which seem like an afterthought. I loved it when Leszek said, “I burn for you”, I think my heart stopped for several minutes. I also like the pictures in the book, I thought it was a unique touch. The humor in the book was good and added to the relatability of the characters. 5 out of 5 stars, I really enjoyed it.… (more)

Sara, a doctor, who sees weird things and can detect how to heal someone. Leszek, the Forest lord, who is trying to protect humans by any means necessary. The MMC was very alpha and bossy. Sara DOES NOT like being told what to do and will let you know exactly how she feels.

I felt that some parts of the story were explained in so much detail and others got brushed over. Sometimes, when it went from the female to the male POV that things were repeated. Overall, I think it was a good read and can be treated as a standalone!… (more)
