Shades of Deception: 3 (The Art Models Club) by Amanda Meadows
I am so thankful the author allowed me to read the ARC (advanced readers copy) of Shades of Deception. I couldn't believe what Hannah did to Amber, that was a twist I certainly did not see coming. I was so thankful for Hunter's controlling personality. I still do not like Kayla or her mum. I really hope that Amber lets Hunter know about what she is doing. I can't wait to see how the author takes the story from here. I always feel sad when I get to the end of the story as I just want to read on and know more about the characters. I would rate this story five out of five and highly recommend this to other readers.… (more)

naomixbray | Sep 30, 2014 | One of the first books I reviewed was "Portrait of Jealousy", book two of the Art Models Club series. I actually read that book without reading book one first. This one has since shown up as free on Amazon, so I decided to download it to see if it changed my opinion of "Portrait of Jealousy". It definitely did.
"Lover's Muse" introduces Amber, a new college student who is going to school to avoid having to live with her alcoholic, mooching mother. She can hardly afford to get by, and when she passes out from lack of food she catches the attention of her TA, Hunter. Hunter (who we find out is incredibly wealthy) takes her under his wing, offering her a room in his apartment and making sure she is well-fed. We are also introduced (briefly) to Kayla, who is desperately trying to date Hunter, and Hannah, Amber's best friend; previously I was confused by the sudden appearance of these two characters in book two, but their storylines make total sense with the backstory given in this book.
I did have to suspend my disbelief a little; I can't think of a single person who would move in with someone they just met several days ago and accept their charity, although I suppose it isn't entirely outside the realm of possibility. I also noticed that twice the name "Amanda" was used instead of "Amber" (once on the very first page!) so the publisher / author may want to go back and revise that.… (more)

** The book had been sent by the author for an honest review and by no means the review is biased/influenced**
STAR RATING: 3.5/5
DESCRIPTION IN ONE LINE: A continuation to the series.
Title: Paris is the place for love and certainly the change in the location has been well covered in the title itself. Those who are a regular readers of the series shall find the chronology appropriate.
Title Rating: 4/5
Cover: This cover was a little bit on the disappointing side after Shades of Deception. Although the cover has got all the Paris essentials i.e. Love and Eiffel Tower still it didn't come out as well as it's predecessor. Hunter's description is not done justice in the cover :(
Cover Rating: 3.5/5
Characters: HUNTER: So I was so right that he's got something which makes him a control freak. He's too sensitive to admit it in the face of people but there's more to him we are still yet to see and enjoy.
AMBER: She has the fears to fit in the POSH crowd and compares everything with her first situations which are in stark contrast to each other. It needs guts to show the past to someone who's at an entirely different notch from her.
HUNTER'S PARENTS: I had a feeling that probably his parents would disapprove of Amber but as some facts got revealed we got an insight to their characters.
Characters Rating:4/5
Review: The 4th instalment hints about Humber's past and Kayla's mother's some super evil intentions seemed like a story which had been dragged a bit. If we go by the series it belongs to, it certainly falls into place but as an individual book it would fail to grab new readers who'd want to read from book 1. The book has actually not revealed anything new besides some small facts which don't look that promising except for Kayla's parents scenario. I had expected Hunter's past to be some of a shocking incident but I'm afraid it's a childhood mishappening most certainly. There could have been more scope to the story but despite everything it belongs to the chain of events in the series.
Review Rating: 3/5
Appreciation: The story is in easy to understand language and makes a link up read to Art Model's Club.
Let Downs: I've been saying it almost every time that the story should have been longer but this time 138 pages did no justice to readers. It was equivalent to watching a filler when nothing important is going on in the story.
Final Verdict: The story has dropped in hints and have built up huge expectations for the final book.
Would I be reading more from AMANDA MEADOWS: Definitely. I've reviewed the second and third one in the series as well and in future will review the last book if given a chance. I hope the information about the next books in series is out soon. Amanda I'm really waiting for more.

STAR RATING: 4.5/5
DESCRIPTION IN ONE LINE: A breathtaking tale.
Title: Now my complaint regarding the title is all gone. This is the perfect title in accordance to the story. So the title gets the thumbs up.
Title Rating: 4.5/5
Cover: This cover made me swoon with super-excitement. The deception hangs in the mask and colour combinations.
Cover Rating: 4.5/5
Characters: HUNTER: There's something about Hunter that is still a big secret. He's definitely having some past that bothers him but he's been extremely caring and he has proved he loves and values her girl beyond everything.
AMBER: She has been a strong girl despite her fears and the problem she landed into. Her common sense and character came out properly in this particular story.
HANNAH: I knew it from the beginning she is hiding something. In fact in my last book's review I wrote this and then deleted because Kayla's plot was prominent at that time. She's a weakling due to her addictions and stupidity.
KAYLA: She was dormant in this particular book but the author has taken care to keep making us feel her presence so that we know that there's more to come.
CALEB: I'm glad this guy had his share of limelight finally and he has the perfect understanding with Hunter and is an honest buddy.
Characters Rating:4.5/5
Review: The 3rd instalment was thrilling with surprises and kept me glued to the story the entire time. The story started with Amber's life without Hunter and Hannah's desperate attempts to her evil plot. Amber has been dodging her but the story unfolds when things start getting worse. This story reveals something weird about Hunter which is kind of hard to accept.
Review Rating: 4.5/5
Appreciation: The story is perfect mix of romance, suspense, fear and the bond of friendship in an easy to understand language and length.
Let Downs: We have no hint what Kayla's next move would be. I wish the story was longer.
Final Verdict: The story is highly engaging and makes the reader to turn the next page immediately.
Would I be reading more from AMANDA MEADOWS: Definitely. I've reviewed the second one in the series as well and in future will review this entire series an I loved it so much. I hope the information about the next books in series is out soon. Amanda I'm really waiting for more.… (more)
