I loved this book. The characters(especially Marcus) were very interesting, and the overall story had me laughing through most of it. Near the end, it got more serious, but the underlying theme made that part enjoyable as well.

Gripping tale of war time air missions in WW II told through the eyes of a airman who was too young to be there but was there none the less.

A fictional look at Sally Lincoln, Abe's older sister. She's 12 years old for most of the book, and tells the story of her family's trek from Kentucky to the Indiana wilderness. This is mostly about her and Abe dealing with their hard father, the death of their mother, and their father's remarriage. There are plenty of details about pioneer life. Sally's voice is distinct, but not quite interesting enough to make me love this book.

One of my favorite genres, WWII. This book tells the story of a very young teenage Jewish boy with his sights set to see Hitler and the Nazi's annihilated from the earth and the extremes he went through to get into the fight! Well written and very good descriptions of the action and what the men were faced with day in and day out.
