This was the first book that I read of this series, and even though it was out of order I wasn't lost. The blurb of this series drew me in and for once, I didn't have it in me to start at the beginning.
I enjoyed the story but wished a few things had been fleshed out more such as the situation with Nancy and the connections with Breeze and Ava. Still, it was good.

MagicalRi | Feb 24, 2022 | Very good for apparently a 1st novel, I wouldn't have realised.
Second chance.
Split due to seeing a photograph the Hero thinks the heroine is with someone else. The Hero and heroine are having a long distance relationship.
Hero gets drunk and details are vague but he is in bed with another woman next morning, he says they didn't have sex but they must have shared some intimacy from the very vague description the night before.
Heroine makes a surprise visit to the Hero the morning after leading to them splitting up.
They reconnect 10 years later.
The Hero has been with others during the separation and the heroine says she dated but no details.
There are other women talking about him in bed, overheard by the heroine but the Hero says he wasn't with any of them. So ex drama.
Secondary characters drop breadcrumbs for possible future storylines.
I did think that it was interesting the Hero felt maybe they would have struggled to last during their separation anyway as they were living different lives and his career scene at the time would have been difficult for her.
The heroine had some inferiority issues which didn't help their relationship.
HEA
Epilogue.

MagicalRi | 1 other review | Dec 22, 2019 | When I first started reading the book I hated it, I almost stopped because I hate weak woman. And that is what I saw Elliott as, I mean she catches her husband cheating and that is bad enough but it was with her sister and then she doesn't leave him he asks for a divorce and she didn't want it. I flipped almost stopped reading right there, I mean c'mon on, he not only cheated on you repeatedly, but damn with your sister!!! Oh hell no, I would have Elaina Bobbett his ass..All that said she changed when she left her house with her kids, thank goodness and then here comes Duke, her hottie the guy she has fantasized about and then my friends the story changes and now I can actually repeat her name..Enjoy!
