Mashle: Magic and Muscles, Vol. 8 by Hajime Komoto

A cover-to-cover brawl where following all the spells warping space and time can get a little confusing and the long sections without Mash Burnedead make me wonder why I"m reading this at all. When Mash does show up, he's just straight-up Superman now, and I'm not sure I want to read a Superman book.

I've read all the volumes my local library has at this point, so I have to take a break from this series anyway. I'm not going to request that the library purchase more volumes, but I might check them out if the library does get more in the future.… (more)

Mashle: Magic and Muscles, Vol. 7 by Hajime Komoto

This is an over-the-top series, but did it jump the shark this time with an iron tennis racket and some speed burrowing? Maybe it wasn't as good for me because the wall-to-wall fights only allowed for two cream puff jokes? Hmmm.

Well, I have another volume on hand from the library, so onward!

Mashle: Magic and Muscles, Vol. 6 by Hajime Komoto

I'm a little worried as we enter another tournament because those things can go on forever and start to bore in manga, but Mash Burnedead continues to amuse and easily draws me through the first round with his punching and dancing(!) skills. Oh, and his pathetic best friend and roommate, Finn Ames, finally gets a moment to shine.

I have two more volumes on hand from the library, so onward!
