"Jack" is a "ghost man," a heister (love that word) who is an expert at acquiring and discarding identities before and after crimes. An ingenious robbery in Malaysia goes sour, leaving him in debt to the mastermind of that robbery. So when another heist, a casino robbery in Atlantic City, goes wrong, Jack has to come in and fix things for the boss. He becomes entangled with another crime boss, his henchmen, and maybe not surprisingly, an attractive and attracted FBI agent. The book is filled with violence, of course, and lots of detail about how Jack changes his identity, including his appearance and voice, which makes the book feel more real. It's well written and I enjoyed it, but maybe I need to not read so many crime novels.… (more)

I have a weird feeling about this book. For the most part I liked it. I thought the story was interesting, the protagonist clever and someone I wouldn't mind meeting again, and it had a mostly satisfying conclusion. That said, when I didn't actively have the book in my hand, I didn't miss it. I wasn't dying to know what happened next and it took seemingly forever for me to finish it. I can't put my finger on why it wasn't particularly compelling.

Minor local nit-pick: one of the super bad guys in the book shares a name with a mild mannered Philly sportswriter. That was a bit of a disconnect for me but only a tiny thing.… (more)

Fast paced story of the master thief, ghostman, human chameleon.

I wont go into details of the story to avoid spoilers. What I can say is that story takes place in around 72 hours it is very fast paced with lots of action, twists and turns and violence.

Book is written in same way as [a:Richard Stark|13634|Richard Stark|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1287877064p2/13634.jpg]'s Parker series - some flashbacks giving details on the main character and his relations with other people in the story. If you seek deeply developed characters this might not be your cup of tea. Main element here are a heist, numerous twists and inner workings of the criminal groups.

Highly recommended to all thriller fans.
