About the Author
Melanie Harlow is a romance author who grew up with a love for reading and often devoured romances by Nora Roberts. Her favorite authors are Liane Moriarity, Anita Shreve, and Kate Morton. She started out teaching high school English and social studies and instructing dance classes. After the birth show more of her daughters she didn't return to teaching English but instead focused on being a mom, dance teacher and writer. Her first novel was a young adult novel, Speak Easy. After this, she ventured into romance novels. In 2014 and early 2015, she wrote and published the Frenched series as well as The Tango Lesson, a standalone novella. In 2015 and early 2016, she published the Happy Crazy Love series. The rest of 2016 and early 2017 will see three companion novels. Slap Shot Surprise (Cherry Tree Harbor Book 5) by Melanie Harlow
I'll admit it, I read this based on an Instagram ad. I had read Melanie Harlow before and liked the books. This one was just ok. There is a surprise pregnancy, the guy is a hockey player and he and the girl have a one-night stand. She is nice and tells him about the baby and asks for nothing more. They become friends, etc. It is pretty low angst. If you enjoy Melanie Harlow, I say give it a chance. If you like hockey romance or the pregnancy trope, go ahead and try it.

3.5/5⭐️ Aw. This was sweet. It was a quick read for me. I loved Veronica and Austin��s chemistry. I also loved how fast paced this book was. It skipped over time a lot, like days or weeks at a time. I oddly liked that. I liked this book but I didn’t necessarily love it. It was good though and worth the read.
I am soooo ready for Ari’s book because I can def see it coming. Unfortunately, I’m not sure when it will come. Xander is fun though. He gives big brother energy too even though Austin is older. I’m excited for his book next. :)… (more)

I enjoyed this book. Parts of it were exceptional. Other parts made me want to pull my hair out. There was drama that didn't need to be there. Especially, as these two were best friends and knew what the other wanted.
Still I liked Reid and Willow.
