Kade Issacson the leader of the New Orleans vampires, is devastated when his fiancée Sydney is nearly killed by a demon and he has to turn her into a vampire. This book picks up after she is turned and the transition into something she never wanted to be has left her in a bad state unable to feed. Kade feels guilty having turned her knowing she didn't want it but unable to let her go.

A Psycho killer Sydney arrested with her partner Anthony, breaks out of prison on a mission to get revenge on her. Antony arrives to warn her and discovers the new but not improved Sydney. He agrees to help Kade in any way to try get Sydney to accept her new nature so she can feed while they also go on the hunt for the escaped psycho.

The Immortals on New Orleans is a favorite of mine. I started the series a while back and was hooked from book one which is why I was looking forward to finding out what was happening with Sydney and Kade.

It was nice going back to the couple who started it all and the author has a way of making you feel dirty (but in a good way) when reading her books. I always want to cover it up when someone walks past so prying eyes cant see what I'm reading. If you've read the books in this series you will know that there is a sort of formula when it comes to the sex scenes. I like couples to be just that. A couple. This author has a way of pushing that and making it work. I wasn't exactly thrilled with how some of the sex scenes panned out for one of the past couples but in the story they were wolves and that's how they roll. I'm not a prude but I am a bit of a romantic at heart so I was a bit worried when it came to Kade and Syd as I really loved them together but this worked well. It was steamy without leaving you feeling uncomfortable

2015 is the year for the immortals of New Orleans. I have been so addicted to this series that it is scary i have already bought the next one. I love Logan. I feel for him that he got forced to be alpha but I think it ended so well. I would have loved to find out how wynter transitions that's my only down fall of this read.

In the second Immortals in New Orleans novel, vampire Luca Macquarie has been kidnapped, chained with silver, and drained of blood. After Kade, Luca’s sire and best friend, saves his life, Luca is determined to fight the people responsible for nearly killing him. To do so, he has to track down a runaway witch.
Samantha wants nothing more than to return to her normal human life. In the previous book, she was kidnapped and horribly abused. The result of that abuse has given her special powers over the elements, which has basically transformed her into a witch. She shuns her new abilities, but when her life is threatened again, she has no choice but to trust Luca and learn to fight back.
I liked the book for the most, and I definitely connected better with Luca and Samantha than I did with the couple from the first book. Luca and Samantha are well-rounded characters with great chemistry. After a painful tragedy in Luca’s past, he’s locked his heart in a cage of ice, but Samantha’s spunk, strength, and vulnerability quickly thawed the ice. I love seeing cold, stoic men fall to their knees!
The world building is great. I totally like that vampires, witches, and werewolves are known to the world at large and live side-by-side with humans in relative peace, but they’re certainly having trouble with each other. Since Luca is a vampire and Samantha is a witch, the book focused more on the paranormal aspect of life and very little on the humans, which was nice.
The story is a little repetitive, however, with head hopping and more telling than showing. The sex scenes are erotic and very entertaining. Kade, Sydney, Tristan, and other characters from book 1 return, and it was nice seeing those characters again.
3.5 Stars

PNR Erotica?
3.75 stars For Now.
I put this on my Read 2022 shelf. Even though I have already read it, I just realized I have a ton of this series I HAVEN'T read!

I remember enjoying this and the mc's names. I know there were some steamy hot sexy times.
But I don't remember enough to go into the next book in the series.
I love PNR and add to that 'Detective/Mystery'! Yep. I will be rereading this in September. Then I can read more of the series.

Great read - good character development, good scenery, easy to like the leading characters and the supporting cast. Happy to have the cameo's of characters from the first book.
It was interesting that once Samantha & Luca came to terms with each other and their feelings they very quickly became comfortable with each other and their love bloomed quickly, which happened in tandem with Samantha's acceptance of being a witch.
I was surprised by the reveal of the aggressor in the story - not whom I expected it to be.

Kym Grosso has done it again with a great book and a promise to continue the series in 2013 with Lyceum Wolves - Tristan's book.

I really liked this story - well crafted, solid characters, alpha male, strong heroine, angst filled, a bit of mystery, good sexual tension and hot sex.

Tristan & Kalli make a good couple, they are well matched in character & strength. The main supporting characters Logan & Mia, add to the plot, sexual tension, and pack dynamics.

There was one open open issues that I felt did not get resolved the antidote for CLI, is it something to be worked on or do we no longer care now that its no longer readily available?

I am hoping that Logan's book is next based on the epilogue, I think that Logan is a great guy and want to know more about him.

What a great read.
I enjoyed the characters, plot and sexual tension of the story.

I loved the independent, stubborn, take no prisoners attitude of the heroine, as well as the dominant, cool and sure of himself vampire. The relationship between the Tristan, Kade, Luca and Sydney was wonderful, at times, even challenging the relationship between Kade & Sydney.
For those of you who are looking for an action packed book full of twists, danger and hot, mind-boggling, sexy vampires, then I would recommend this book.
I was very pleased so see that there will be a follow on book coming out in the summer of 2012.Luca is very worthy and deserving of his book - and it will be hard waiting for it

Jax Chandler, Alpha of the Agrestis Wolves is captured and tortured by demons. Upon his escape, he helps free a fellow victim, Katrina Livingston, the woman he suspects is his mate and has caused him nothing but grief. The two are determined to put a stop to the demons’ plan.

Kym Grosso’s Jax is an exciting and action-packed novel that is full of unexpected twist.

I like both Jax and Katrina. They have an intense chemistry. They are both strong and determined. Their characters are well-developed and believable.
I found the conversations between Jax, Jake and Finn humorous. I also, appreciated Jax’ pep talk to his wolves. There are definitely many amusing conversations and comment throughout the book.

The plot is substantial. I love that it draws in character from the previous books. There are a lot of clever things that happen that keep the story full of suspense. The epilogue was intriguing, making me anxious for the next book.

Kim Grosso delivers another incredible installment of the Immortals of New Orleans series. Dimitri LeBlanc, beta of the Acadian Wolves finds himself in a whole lot of trouble at the end of Leopold’s story. The action starts there. While this is a continuing series, each installment is very capable of standing on its own merits.
Ms. Grosso has a way of pulling you into the characters, making you care about them and wanting the best for them. Dimitri is no different: with his humor, loyalty and compassion, he’s the kind of guy every girl wants to have around.
Naturally, there are all kinds of problems along the way, as well as a lot of sizzle between the main characters. It is the kind of book you just can’t put down.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:
*Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review

Another incredible installment in the IMMORTALS OF NEW ORLEANS series!

Our hero, Leopold, is possibly the oldest vampire around. He's dangerous, sexy as sin, and pure Alpha Male. When he finds an innocent baby left alone in the snow to die, he vows to protect it and find out what happened. Enter Laryssa Theriot, a beautiful woman with secrets aplenty and gifts unimagined.

Leopold has closed himself off as a defense mechanism, but in the last book he ended up starting a bromance with a wolf, has now saved a baby and protects it like his own, and feels a desire unlike any other for Laryssa. Seems our boy is softening!? Too bad Laryssa has her own issues to deal with...

I loved the added intrigue & the danger in this book, and as usual, Kym brings some hot and steamy to the table. The match between Leo and Laryssa was ultimately a very good one - take Leo's dark, dangerous and sensual, mix in Laryssa's spunk and snark and you get a really fun power couple.

As also expected of Kym.... The ending will make you want the next book immediately. I'm definitely looking forward to Dimitri's book!!

Kym Grosso’s Immortals of New Orleans continues with Leopold’s Wicked Embrace. As a fan of the series, I’ve read all four previous books. Each delves into the life of a particular supernatural. Kym’s covered her bases with this series, vampires, werewolves, witches, and naiads. Leopold’s Wicked Embrace can be read as a standalone book. There is enough background given that you won’t be totally in the dark, but it may be enough to make you want to read the rest of the series.
Leopold is an ancient vampire. He sired Kade (of Kade’s Dark Embrace, book 1). He’s had a role in several of the series. It was good to finally get to know more about this debonair vampire. He is focused on one thing as this story opens, saving an innocent baby. His cold heart is warmed by a little baby. Ava starts the cracks, into the walls surrounding the ancient vampire’s long dead heart.
Keeping Ava safe leads Leopold into Laryssa’s life. Laryssa wants nothing but to remain anonymous, hidden, and safe from the demon out to get her. It just so happens, the demon after Ava has laid claim to Laryssa’s soul as well.
Leopold will do anything to keep Ava and Laryssa safe from the demon and more importantly safe from him. Some of the best conflict comes from the internal battles Leopold and Laryssa have in determining how to deal with their building attraction.
Laryssa and Leopold work through their own insecurities, their own personal demons. From time to time, I didn’t know if they would pull everything together. It was like they were always more concerned about the other person, protecting each other from themselves. That unselfish nature wasn’t expected from Leopold, but those walls were cracking.
All in all, a very enjoyable weekend of reading!

Dr. Wynter Ryan was being held captive by her employer via vampires. She was researching a cure for a rare disease similar to feline leukemia that could help save her friend’s sister, a half-breed wolf shifter. After two months held in captivity, she was finally able to escape her tormentors.

Logan Reynaud has recently become the new Alpha of the Acadian Wolves in New Orleans. He saves a beautiful human woman who was being hunted down by vampires. The last thing the alpha needs is a distraction from his new pack, but he finds himself attracted to this human or is she? Upon further inspection, she smells like wolf.

Grosso does an excellent job in her character development. The reader can sympathize with both Logan and Wynter as they struggle in their relationship and the roles of their lives.

Kym Grosso ‘s Logan’s Acadian Wolves is an engaging tale. This book is exciting from beginning to end.

Kym Grosso's has turned out another steamy story. This paranormal book's action is of the NC-17 variety. Logan's Acadian Wolves picks up where the Tristan's Lyceum Wolves left off. While I much preferred Tristan's suave style, his former beta, Logan, is a strong, street-wise lead character. He is the new alpha in New Orleans and must prove his dominance in the pack and quickly become rescuer to damsel-in-distress Wynter. While under the threat of imminent danger, Wynter and Logan find the bandwidth to lust for one another and develop a very physical and emotionally-charged relationship.
Fans of paranormal romance and established fans of the Immortals of New Orleans series will not want to miss the fourth smashing book in this series.

Logan Reynaud begins his reign as alpha to the New Orleans Acadian Wolves; challenges have been met and quelled. Peace has come to the pack. Logan and Dimitri, his beta, have the packs best interest at heart when a mysterious woman crosses his path.
Wynter, is running for her life, having been captive for two months, her chance at freedom comes at a price. Several vampires are killed, but she knows that they are still after her for her research.
The tendrils of this story wrap around the heart of New Orleans, home of Kade (From Kade’s Dark Embrace) and Logan’s new pack. Logan is determined to protect, Wynter. Whatever she’s mixed up with will impact his wolves and he has to get to the bottom of it.
Reading their story, as Kym Grosso builds their relationship; the reader is naturally drawn into the mystery and intrigue. Your heart pounds as the sizzling heat between Logan and Wynter grows. The challenge of her past, trusting her alpha, and understanding the way the pack works presents numerous trials for the new Alpha.

Our Review by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson:

Just wow!

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves, book #3 of the IMMORTALS OF NEW ORLEANS series was sexy and smart, with an amazing cast and a great story. I was absolutely hooked from the very beginning.

Where the first 2 books of Kym's series were vampire driven, this one takes a little turn and concentrates on the werewolf pack of Philly, but we do get some insight into how things are going with Kade (the hero of book #1).

If you're looking for a book (and series) that is chock full of action, uber steamy romance, intrigue, and a thoroughly gripping tale, I highly recommend this book and its predecessors.

Oh, and just a side note... That Epilogue! Kym, you dirty, dirty tease... ;-). I want Logan's story NOW!

“Kade’s Dark Embrace” by Kym Grosso

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Let’s start off by saying the first thing that caught my attention about this book was the cover. Can you say HOT?! It was very sexy. It definitely made me want to turn the pages and find out about the couple on the cover. And, let me tell you that I was not disappointed in what I discovered. I give this Adult Paranormal Romance a solid 4 STARS, I will definitely be checking out more from Kym Grosso, including the next novel in the ‘Immortals of New Orleans’ series, “Luca’s Magic Embrace.”

I really liked the characters in “Kade’s Dark Embrace.” Detective Sydney Willows was a kick-ass female lead that was admirably strong. She thought she knew exactly what she wanted in life and in the love department, until she met a certain sexy vampire that was working a murder case with her. Sydney had an instant attraction to Kade, the sexy vampire, even though she started off not being so nice to him. Kade also had an immediate attraction to Sydney and wanted to claim her. I loved Kade’s character; he was an old-school romantic vampire that was also badass. Eventually, after spending more time with each other on the investigation, Sydney began to soften towards Kade even though she forever remained her stubborn self. True feelings were revealed and through the heat and drama of the investigation, a bond was formed. Sydney and Kade combined both human traditions as well as vampire customs for their relationship. I really liked watching their relationship progress throughout the story; I loved the steamy, adult, romance scenes. Besides Kade and Sydney, I found Luca’s character intriguing. I wanted to know more about him and enjoyed the scenes that he was a part of. I was really excited when I found out the next book in Kym Grosso’s series was based on Luca. I will definitely be reading that book, “Luca’s Magic Embrace,” to find out more about him.

So, Adult Paranormal Romance fans, give “Kade’s Dark Embrace” by Kym Grosso a chance! Ms. Grosso did a good job writing this book and I think it can only get better as the ‘Immortals of New Orleans’ series continues!

Detective Sydney Willows is as stubborn as stubborn gets. Working a case is one thing, working a case with a vampire, a very sexy vampire might I add, is another thing all together. Kade Issacson is a big, bad, overprotective vampire, not to mention the alpha bad ass in New Orleans. When it come's to Sydney Willows, Kade can't help but feel something for this mere human. Working a case together and trying keep their hands off of each other deems to be some really hard work. With a sick killer out there picking off the women of Philadelphia, Sydney and Kade work together to get this sicko off the streets. With enough clues and run-ins, Kade and Sydney put together that who or what they're after isn't just some sicko, but some vampire sicko, wielding voodoo magic and is still in love with Kade and will do anything to get him back, including taking Sydney Willows out of the picture.

Geeez, I think I'm in love with a few of the vampires mentioned in this book. hehe. This book really caught my attention right from the beginning. The connection between Kade and Sydney kept be reading and wanting to know what came next, and before I knew it the book was finished. Despite her bad ass facade, Sydney can't help but let her guard down with Kade. Shes slowly letting him into her life and into her heart and she has no idea what to do with that. The catty comments between the characters really added that much more flare to this book, breathing more life into the book, although it was already sizzling with the heat off of the bodies of some sexy supernatural hunks ;)

I really liked this book, I'd have to say my favorite parts of this book, is where Sydney shows off just how bad ass she is. She doesn't really seem to notice that she is a human among supernatural beings. Which can be life threatening, but she's so bad ass she stakes vampires in her home and talks a good talk when facing a lover scorned in an alley, who happens to be the exact threat that she and Kade are after. What I didn't like from this book, hell, I don't think I didn't like anything from this book, of course I'm going to dislike the villains, but who doesn't? I think the villains we're essentially great and the threats they imposed really came through.

Really great book, I would definitely recommend this book, if you don't have it, get it now! I am so glad it's a series, I can't wait to get hands on the next book which is... drum roll please... Luca's Magic Embrace. Luca is Kade's best friend and fellow vampire, who's gone missing. There is no exact date on when this book will be out, but luckily for me, it'll be out sometime this summer :)
