Quest 976: Saving Sugar Rush

Quest 976 takes place in Candy Kingdom.

Story summary[edit]

Ralph made the Diet Cola Mountain erupt, killing all cy-bugs, and King Candy, by making the fly into the flames. The Player fights a Nightmare cy-bug, and Chirithy speculates the Darklings are attracted to Keyblade wielders. As Vanellope crosses the finish line, Sugar Rush returns to normal, and Vanellope is revealed to be a princess. Vanellope and Ralph say goodbye, and everyone returns to their own game.

Script[edit]

Before quest

[Calhoun shoots the Cy-bugs that try to cross the bridge, while protecting Felix and Vanellope.]

• Vanellope: "Ralph!"

[Calhoun runs out of ammo, and throws her gun away.]

• Calhoun: "Fall back!"

[Ralph is still trapped in King Candy's claws, high up in the air.]

• Ralph: "Run!"

[Calhoun, Felix, and Vanellope slowly back away from the Cy-bugs, but the invisible barrier prevents Vanellope from going any further.]

• Ralph: "Vanellope!"
• King Candy: "Look at that. Your little friend is doomed. Let's watch her die together, shall we?"
• Ralph: "No!"
• King Candy: "Guess it's game over for both of you."
• Ralph: "No. Just for me."

[Ralph manages to break free from King Candy's grasp, and falls down.]

• Vanellope: "Ralph!"

[Vanellope goes to help him, glitching past the cy-bugs.] [Ralph holds the medal Vanellope made him while he falls.]

• Ralph: "I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad."

[Ralph looks at the medal.]

• Ralph: "There's no one I'd rather be..."
• Ralph: "...than me."

[While the candy falls in the diet cola, and the mountain almost erupts, The Player tries to save Ralph.] [Vanellope races and glitches through her hideout, saving both Ralph and The Player.]

• Ralph: "Kid?"
• Vanellope: "Don't worry, I got it all under control!"

[A giant pile of candy falls in the diet cola, causing a major eruption. The cy-bugs get mesmerized by the flare, and fly straight into it.]

• King Candy: "You fools!"
• King Candy: "Why are you going into the light—"

[King Candy also becomes mesmerized, but Turbo tries to take over.]

• Turbo: "No, no!"
• Turbo: "No!"
• Turbo: "No!"
• Turbo: "No!"
• Turbo: "No!"
• King Candy: "I must go into the light!"

[King Candy flies into the flare.] [Vanellope, Ralph, and The Player stop in the Candy Cane Forest, and celebrate.]

• Ralph: "Ready?"

[Vanellope nods, and Ralph pushes her kart. The Player doesn't follow them.]

• Ralph: "What's wrong?"
• Ralph: "What, you forgot something? All right, come find us when you're done."
• Vanellope: "We'll be at the track!"

[Vanellope and Ralph leave, and Chirithy appears.]

• Chirithy: "You noticed it, huh?"

[The Player nods and summons the Keyblade. A giant shadow looms between the trees.]

• Shadow: "Not...you."

[The shadow becomes a giant cy-bug.]

• Chirithy: "Not this again!"
• Chirithy: "If we're not the ones you're looking for, why are you following us?"

[The cy-bug attacks.]

• Chirithy: "That does it! I was hoping we could find out what the Darklings are after, but I don't think that's gonna happen. There's only one thing to do now."

[Chirithy raises its fists, ready to fight. The cy-bug attacks, and Chirity flinches.]

• Chirithy: "Just kidding! Good luck!"

[Chirithy vanishes.]

After quest

[The cy-bug disappears, and Chirithy re-appears.]

• Chirithy: "I wonder what it wanted."
• Chirithy: "Wait a minute... The way the bugs are drawn to the beacons..."
• Chirithy: "Could the Darklings be drawn to Keyblade wielders in the same way?"
• Chirithy: "Oh, it's nothing. Just thinking out loud. Hey, how do you think Vanellope's doing? Let's go wait at the finish line!"

[The Player arrives at the finish just as Felix finished fixing the finish line.]

• Felix: "All fixed!"
• Ralph: "You ready for this?"
• Vanellope: "As ready as I'll ever be."

[Ralph pushes Vanellope's kart over the finish line. The finish line starts glowing, and Vanellope gets transformed into a princess. A burst of light spreads out around her.] [Sour Bill arrives at the finish line.]

• Sour Bill: "Now I remember."
• Sour Bill: "All hail the rightful ruler of Sugar Rush, Princess Vanellope."
• Ralph: "Wow, so this is the real you. A princess."
• Vanellope: "Ralph, what are you, nuts? This isn't me."

[Vanellope glitches out of her dress.]

• Vanellope: "This is me."
• Vanellope: "Look, the code may say I'm a princess, but I know who I really am, Ralph. I'm a racer with the greatest superpower ever."
• Chirithy: "She's a princess, but in her heart she's a racer. It goes to show that sometimes people aren't what they seem. That can be said for anyone. Another version of yourself could be hiding inside your heart."
• Chirithy: "But if that version of you belonged to darkness..."
• Chirithy: "Oh, i-it's nothing!"
• Calhoun: "Fix-it, Wreck-it, the arcade's about to open."
• Calhoun: "Let's move 'em out!"
• Chirithy: "Now that things are back to normal, our world might be fixed too. Let's head back to Daybreak Town to see if the glitches are gone... ...and to share what we know about the Darklings."

[Vanellope and Ralph hug.]

• Vanellope: "You know, you could just stay here and live in the castle. You'd have your own wing where no one would ever complain about your stench or treat you bad ever again. You could be happy."
• Ralph: "I'm already happy. I've got the coolest friend in the world."
• Ralph: "And besides, I've got a job to do, too. It may not be as fancy as being president, but it's my duty. And it's a big duty."
• Ralph: "See ya later, President Fartfeathers."
• Vanellope: "Au revoir, Admiral Underpants."
• Chirithy: "If the Darklings are looking for a Keyblade wielder, but it's not The Player or Ephemer, who could it be...?"

[Ralph, Felix, and Calhoun fly off in Calhoun's ship.]
