Wow, a tale in this book I could actually enjoy: "Caroline Vernon", the fifth tale. At least, it made sense from begining to end. And I found myself wanting to know waht would happen next. I just don't understand why every woman has to fall for the Duke of Zamorna. He is really despicable!

The fourth tale, "Henry Hastings", is the best tale so far. At least is the only one that seems to make some sense. Still, there were some parts where I couldn't understand who the narrator was, and why, oh why, end the thing with the Duke of Zamorna and his family? They have hardly anything to do with the tale's main story.

The third tale is made of letters. I'm trying to enjoy this book, but finding myself unable to do it. There is a connection between the tales, right, but they are so uninteresting. Bah! It's going to be an effort to get to the end of this one.

I thought was was understanding "Stancliffe's Hotel", the second tale. But now that the tale is over, I can see that I haven't understood a thing. Gosh! This second tale just look normal and understandable, and then suddenly I couldn't understand anymore who was narrating it. Besides, you can tell there's a connection with the previous tale but it's not a linear one.
I'm not enjoying this, so far.

Just finished the first tale, "Mina Laury", and I'm not even sure whether I liked it or not. It felt as if it is the continuation of some other story (and probably it is), so I don't know exactly what is going on in Angria.
Not sure what to expect from the next tales.
