How did this book pull me in so much? I thought it was boring in the beginning but then Boring and Fredericks came into the picture and I started flying through the book!! I don't think that Mr. Fredericks understands Althea's intent but that makes it take another turn! I feel sorry for him! I think he likes her, but she is insistent on Lord Boring for now.

Reminds me of 'Pride and Prejudice' so much! Especially this line that Lord Boring says to Mr. Fredericks when he says his time is being wasted, "Upon my word, Fredericks! Looking at these charming an lovely ladies, you wonder why I should wish to call on them? I do believe you've lost every trace of gallantry and civilized behavior in your time away from England." (page 55) Boring is Bingley and Fredericks, Darcy.

Wow. I was right. This story is definitely taking a turn and for the better! I just have to say that it is PRETTY obvious who is sending her all this help and the puppy! At least I think I know who it is! I hope I am right because that is what the story is pointing to. I like that he is being so different when doing these things for her. I think he actually cares but doesn't know how to express himself.

Interesting... Which doesn't really mean anything because I say it after the first couple chapters of every book, but this one is a bit confusing. It is told in a higher English than what we use today so it has bigger words that I have to think about in order to understand what is happening. It is, though, just starting to get good, I think. So, crossing fingers!!!

Interesting... I don't know how I feel exactly yet. I liked the Pride and Prejudice quote from the beginning. I also liked that there was a cast of characters that I could look back on. That first man though.... Ug! I'm glad she 'scared him off' because he is too gross!
