Joan has always loved being amongst young children, and introducing them to some of the best stories in the world. She has worked in schools as a teacher and headteacher both in Germany, and in different parts of England and Wales. Nowadays she has to make do with the wild life that live in the forest that surrounds her home in the Languedoc area of Southern France. She finds that the utter peace and beauty of these surroundings provide plenty of stimulation for her writing. That is, when the hunters aren't discharging their rifles.
