karen i know - i loved that one, too! but i felt like i put 4 of these up today, and it was getting gratuitous.

Sarah Haha!

karen hahahh but it made you laugh, right? a little?? there are like 5 about infinite jest on the site, and they made me laugh despite all the ♥ i have for that book...

i also loved the mill on the floss one - but beware spoilers.

Jason The Gatsby one was pretty fucking hysterical, too.

karen there were a couple of gatsby ones... the first one??

Jason The "Drink Responsibly" one. LOVE IT!

karen remember how that movie was supposed to come out, and then it read my review of it and it crawled into a closet to cry and now the movie isn't coming out until, like, spring? i'm glad i made that happen.

Jason I still hold out hope for that one, though. At least more than I do for Cloud Atlas which looks cheesy.

To me, Baz Luhrmann is intentionally cheesy. Like over-the-top cheesy, which can be fun. I think it's when you're cheesy but you're trying not to be is when I'm turned off.

But yeah, it's cool you made that happen. :)

Jason omg omg omg

karen baz luhrmann's "fun" looks to me like people who have been kidnapped and tortured and told to look like they are having fun or they will get more cattle-prodding. all vaseline smiles and glittery costumes covering the bruises. it frightens me. it is more like a chemical explosion than cinema. the cloud atlas trailer could go either way. parts of it look slick, but parts look good.

karen see? that site is super-fun.

I ♥ U, karen.

Ha! Those are exceptionally good descriptors, karen. Nice work. It's like the filmmaking version of the permanent botox smile.
botox
But I think I might still enjoy it. I guess we'll see. You'll probably be right and I'll hate it but I'm a super big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio (I know, I know, shut up) so like I said, I do hold out some hope.

n I intend to see Gatsby, even knowing that I'll probably be so disgusted I'll cry. Life is hard.

message 16: by Libbie Hawker (new)

Libbie Hawker (L.M. Ironside) I feel great trepidation over the Gatsby film. It's one of my favorite books, and I just don't fully trust Baz.

message 17: by Libbie Hawker (new)

Libbie Hawker (L.M. Ironside) ...especially with all that modern music in the trailer. WTF was that?

Is Better Book Titles the place where the alternate Game of Thrones cover with "Knights Who Say Fuck" came from? That killed me.

karen i didn't see that one on the site, but they did have one called "don't get too attached."

dear diary,
DAVID LOVES ME!!!

I don't think we can be friends anymore.

Duh.

Jason David wrote: "I don't think we can be friends anymore."

He ♥s me, too (I think). It's just a litttle harder for him to admit.

Melki Okay. This finally makes sense to me now.

David Myers Eloquent, beautiful, insightful. Human beings stripped. It is a lose to me that I can only know Virginia Woolf through her books.

karen i know - i also love her, despite this silliness in the review space.

Joana That picture made me LOL. :)

karen that site is a gift
