I’ll start by dedicating this review to one of my book besties. A few of us got together and did our own take on secret Santa. We each got a person to recommend books to. This was one of the ones on the list and I instantly gravitated towards it.

This is the story of Allie and Wes, when they first meet it’s under unfortunate circumstances. Allie wanting to get free from her trafficker steals something from Wes… months later Wes is still looking for her…. When he does… he ends up saving her but in the end she saves him just as well.

This is the story of love being found in the most unexpected of places. It shows a survivor from trafficking as well as one from abuse. These characters grow so much together. Allie helping Wes be the dad that Ben deserves, and feel ready to open his heart again.

I will say there were many times where I wanted to shake Wes early on… but you also understand why he is the way he is. He also has a lot of trauma to overcome and I love that these two do it together. Each one making the other character thrive.

This was one of those books you just can’t put down, you need to know what’s going to happen between these two. There were a few moments I teared up, especially with Allie and Ben’d bond. This is written by a new to me author and I’ll definitely be reading her other work as well.
