كتاب سخيف في الحقيقة عن مجموعة من الاشخاص يربطهم المسرح وتنشأ بينهم علاقات غريبة نوعا ما حتى مع المتزوجين منهم لم استطع حتى التفرقة بين كل شخص منهم. فقط عجبتني فكرة ان يذهب الشخص الى مكان ما ليعتزل عن الاخرين ويشرع في كتابة كتابه.

القصة تقع في باريس

الترجمة سيئة جداً وكأن المترجم لا يعرف العربية او أنها مترجمة من سيد قوقل نفسه (جربت ان اضع بعض الجمل الفرنسية في قوقل وقد ترجمها بشكل جيد، لذا لا بد ان اسحب كلامي لان حتى ترجمة قوقل افضل من ترجمة هذا الكتاب )

Second reading October 3023:

A story in Paris, with a group of friends and/or acqaintences, mainly an actress (Beatrice), a writer (Bernard), a producer, wives etc. the Maligrasses Fanny and Alain) entertain this small group young actors and writers. The novelist who is married but falls in love with a rich girl (Jusee), his wife Nicole is suffering from various miscarriages, the last one was when he was on a writing conquest. there is also Edouard Maligrass the nephew of Alain, and bernard (the medical student). last but not least the producer Andre Jolyet (some think that he is gay).

The novel spans one year and the lives of the group intertwine and gets mixed up in such a way that we cannot tell who is who and what each person means to the other.

the writer is clever though, she got me intrigued the whole time. I did read the arabic translation earlier but didn’t think much of it, (I should have read the french version instead, that probably would have made more sense to me).

the book is written in 1957, which means the loneliness, the senselessness of the book is very much in place. in the arabic version, this was not evident at all, but in the English version, the whole lost-souls feeling is because of the void that the world had in those few years after the war.
