I wasn't really into this book when I first started it. Like many others I didn't like the MCs they both had issues. They don't listen to each other go about talking to each other and are quite mean to each other. I was worried I would hate them the whole book. In the end the author does manage to take my mind off these behaviors long enough to enjoy the book and by the time the crisis passes the characters emerge better for it all. Do I think she redeemed the characters, no, but she made them more relatable. In the end I thought the book was actually well done.
