There was a part after Hamnet died, when Shakespeare (who is never named) returns from almost a year in London, that was so tender it brought tears to my eyes. For most of this book I was not very emotionally involved, but towards the end there was a real increase in intensity for me that bumped this up to 4 stars.

I am glad you liked the best part 😀 I adored this story. It was one of my favourite books last year. Great comments Kelly ❤️
