I have read one story in this anthology. It was good enough for me to not care whether the others are even comprehensible. I loved Lynn Van Dorn’s ‘Catch Me If You Can.’ I had forgotten how good her writing can be.
It’s rare to read a short story that makes you feel as though you know the characters well enough to believe you could predict their responses to different situations but know you can’t quite trust them because they keep secrets from even those who consider them dear friends. Love, betrayal, frustration, longing, witty conversations, kinky sex, tender passion, longing. It’s all here in this wonderful small package. If any if the other stories are any good— great! If not, I don’t care.
