Michael Would you say that this is grimdark fantasy? I've read a couple of reviews that suggest that it is even though it is classed as High fantasy.

It feels much more high fantasy than grimdark to me, mate. Kings of the Wyld esque.

Tasha More like high fantasy with elements of horror, which isn’t exactly grimdark. Buehlman cut his teeth as a horror writer, and those books are excellent too.
