Opens with a page of jokey casual homophobia which put my hackles up and by 20% hadn't really recovered from that so I'm bailing. Plus, a political comedy that doesn't soft soap the very real problems is something I'd be very on for, but I'm not sure how well that fits with the romcom aspect, for me at least. Or possibly I don't have a sense of humour about politics any more. Anyway, not working for me. DNF.

Anuja Chauhan's politics in real life are kinda all over the place, and it's turned me off reading her, though I appreciate her humour. Also her books are sometimes horrifically casteist.

There were a few aspects that were giving me uncomfortable vibes, which I didn't want to wade in on from a position of ignorance, so I'm really interested you said that. Pity because I loved Thakur Girls (and would welcome any recs accordingly...)
