Lavender Waters grew up the daughter of a hockey legend, and was always the one that was a bit different. She seemed to feel things more intensely than others, and was shy and awkward. Now she's nineteen and a sophomore at a new school in Chicago. She's living with her two overprotective brother's and trying to fit in on campus. They still treat her like a delicate flower made of glass, and she wants to prove she's no longer that helpless little girl. She's worked hard to find her strength and independence, and rely on herself, but one encounter with the boy from her past brings back all her inner demons.

Kodiak Bowman used to be her safe place and protector, but now he was like a stranger. Their families were close, and they grew up together. He was her everything until things turned ugly between them. Now he's just a jerk that makes her feel angry and hurt. He's a gorgeous, popular, talented hockey player, and her older brother's best friend. He's everywhere she turns these days, and she hates him and his beautiful face. He was such a huge part of her life, and then he was gone. He used to get her in a way nobody else did. He was her person, and now he's just her past.

Kody Bowman isn't prepared to see Lavender all over campus. She's a constant reminder of a complicated time in his life he's tried to put behind him. He tries to pretend he's unaffected by her and their history. When he can no longer avoid her will he lose the control he's worked so hard to keep, and will the truth finally be revealed?

Little Lies by H. Hunting is a standalone angsty new adult, brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, college sports romance with all the feels. The worlds of Helena Hunting's Pucked and All In Series collide as we revisit Lavender and Kodiak all grown up. I also loved all the supporting characters and family members/siblings, and hope we get more of this younger generation. This book was unlike anything I've read by this author, and is one of my favorites! It's deep, all consuming, and absolutely fantastic! It's a beautiful, emotional, unforgettable story about unbreakable bonds, friendship, family, self discovery, and soulmates. This couple has something rare and real, and their journey from past to present captivated me from the start. I quickly fell in love with this story and these characters, but Lavender stole the show for me. She's unique, fierce, and will capture your heart. <333
