I guess it's general thing that everybody liked this book so you also have to, but I don't agree , I despise his writing so much!

They are the real ones with chemistry. Hamlet was never bipolar with Horatio like how he was with Ophelia.

I think, if Hamlet or Horatio would've just admitted their feelings, then all would've worked out just fine. But no, Shakespeare has to make him die. Tragically. Like almost every lead in his plays. Lesson learned: Never be a lead in a Shakespeare play.
