What is wrong with people?

Yes, I am going to be judgey and bitchy because child abuse and rape are not really romantic no matter how deep, dark and complicated the story.

Does the guy below look familiar? If the hero were a sniveling bastard like Nassar would readers be so enthralled?

Ivy H I can't believe this book got so many 4+ stars rating ! This storyline sounds a lot like it's romanticizing grooming, since the girl's just 15 ☹️ Was it the old Lolita trope or was the girl a normal/average 15 year old ?

boogenhagen Excellent and very accurate review!

I am still not seeing how she is getting five books out of this. Mine would only be a novella of inappropriate assault of a minor, court trial and then a final end in the prison shower.

Grooming from what I've read. The details are so gross: she's way underage, he's her coach; he's engaged to be married, no condoms, no birth control just the morning after pill every time they have sex which I can only imagine would be dangerous.

Mind boggling to me how many people are rhapsodizing about what a dark and complicated romance it is.

Thanks. Prison shower! Now that's a happy ending for these kinds of guys.

♥ℳelody And this is *exactly* I scrolled down to check reviews first before clicking 'to-read' button. The end of the blurb made me fidget a little. Is the heroine underage? I'm assuming yes, if so grossssss. And hell no.

I think she's about 15 in the first book so definitely underage.

Izzy He is engaged to get married? And she doesn’t protest? She is way too young at 15 years of age but still as teenagers, I was touched innapropriately when I was in High School , it was the worst thing possible and I screamed for him to stop. He was handsome and young and everyone had a crush on him. But all the girls were grossed when he tried being touchy feely and finally he left the school.

So I can’t get my head around the fact that the h allows him to touch her or maybe he forces it on her and she doesn’t know how to get help or get out of that situation?

This is sort of like that Australian crime case in which the PE teacher was married and had sex with his 15 year old student then married her and then his wife dissapeared, although there is no evidence and at the time there wasn’t enough technology but everyone still thinks he killed his wife to be with the teenage girl.

I avoid these kinds of triggering books, thanks for the review.

I read the reviews and skimmed a little and that was enough for me. I know this is a "dark romance" and everyone should be open to it as "it's just fiction", but no. It's all been said before, but I can't get over this being sold as romance when it's simply abuse.
