3.5. This review may contain what some would call spoilers but not that much more than the blurb.

This book would be much improved if the author had given more of a background for Peter and Quinn. Some addl set-up would have made the family believing the whole "straight roommates" more realistic and given me a reason not to keep rolling my eyes at how stupid the whole thing was.

Live with a guy for 10 years, never have a relationship (at least publicly) with a woman, and still your family shuts their eyes to your sexuality? Not a single person in the family looks askance when the ex-"roommate" goes to the wedding, is the godfather and continues to go to family holidays? The new wife never once suspects?

Give me a reason to go along with all that please.

Tam I got the impression the family knew, but would simply pretend it never happened in order to keep everything exactly as it was. It was all about keeping up appearances and not causing waves, so if Peter wanted them to pretend he never had a relationship with Quinn and Quinn was happy to go along with it, then they'd all just pretend. Made me crazy actually.
