it was amazing
bookshelves: personal-growth, business

This book is a life changer ! Really, I'm not making this up. This was exactly what I needed. Some things that are described in this book I realized before reading this book, but there were a lot of things I never thought about myself but are so true. I don't like conflicts and I found a lot of tips in this book about this topic..so how not to be in fights with people. Yaaay, my zen is safe! =)

Jacob Purhard Thank you for the recommendation, but isn't honesty the right answer? Doesn't this book only teach you how to get along with stupid people who have placed boundaries in front of all of their senses just to live a life that is dictated rather than living one that you have to create for yourself? Tell me a bit more about it and I'd be happy to try it, but I don't really want a friend that I need a rule-book to approach. I would prefer to have 1 friend who is free of all that shit than a thousand friends who are not. If I'm getting it wrong, I'd be happy to change my mind if you provide me with a good argument that will convince me that I am in the wrong. Although you will have to have patience with me, for I myself can barely convince my own self of anything these days... But I am quite convinced that I don't even want to be successful, for what is personal success worth when there are millions of children dying of hunger all around the world? Let others chase success, I will only start chasing it when I lose all faith in humanity. However, the process of writing the last sentence made me realize that I might have had already lost it, hence it actually could be a profitable read for me.

Summer You have to use your common sense and your heart while reading this book. The writer specifically says that this book doesn't teach you how to be a slimy, lying asshole. It emphasizes on the fact that you NEED to be honest while giving compliments for example. It also doesn't teach to you to be friends with people that aren't worth of your friendship. You have to have your opinions but don't shout them and don't talk just about yourself and don't criticize other people. If you approach reading this book in a negative way then yes, you will take his advices in a negative way. simple as that. But I approached it in a positive way. What can this book give me, what can this book add to the quality of my life? How can I improve my conversations with people, how do I make the stress of dealing with people less stressful? And I found a lot of great advices in this book for exactly these dilemmas.

Juliana Riccio You should also try his other book How to Stop Worrying and Start Living. It's also extremely good.

Summer Omg Juliana you are the best! This is just the type of books I like to read! Thank you for your recommendation.
