Oops. Read this one 10 years ago and forgot.
This time around, I feel about the same way. It's decent but the art is kind of lacking.

description

Original Review: 2010
My 10 year old thought it was kind of cool, but he wasn't super excited about it. It stuck pretty close to the book, but it felt kind of choppy. Not a bad choice for a reluctant reader, though.

Dennis 2020 happens quite often at your place. Well, that's unfortunate.

L. McCoy A few months back I read the graphic novel adaptation of Red Pyramid, don’t know how that is compared to the original but I felt kinda meh.

Bahahaha! *sigh*
Thanks. I'll fix that.

It was one of those freebies from Hoopla. Blah.

None of these graphic novel adaptations live up to the fun of the books.

Anne No, I agree. I read the 1st book to my boys when they were little and this was really not comparable. It was a very decent, very compact version of the story.

In all honesty I only read the Red Pyramid one because of a challenge to read something I grabbed off a library shelf with my eyes closed so it’s not something I’m too interested in TBH, still gave 3-stars so thought it was decent but ain’t bothered to continue. Might still try Percy Jackson at some point though, I liked the Lightning Thief movie when I was younger.

The actual Rick Riordan books are pretty solid, writing about the modern demigod children of the different pantheons. They're fun, quick reads. Plus, I'm a sucker for mythology.

Anne They are solid 3 star reads all the way through, L.

That's what I've rated them all as well. They aren't spectacular but are quick reads and fun.

message 11: by Anne (new) - rated it 3 stars

Anne 3 stars seems like a slap in the face, but I think it gets a bad rap. It's like a good B movie or a teen drama on CW. You still like it!

Judie Mickey It's amazing jj
