Wonderful story. A good mystery. A killer. Great romantic tension.

Faith is a young girl, whose father and older brothers are drunks and trouble makers. Her mother has a loose reputation and is mistress to a wealthy man. Faith’s family is run out of town. Faith is humiliated, ends up in a foster home, studies hard, makes something of herself, and returns to Prescott. Gray is the rich man's son who is drawn to Faith yet hates her because of her mother's affair with his father. When Faith returns to town, Gray and others want her to leave and make her life difficult.

I loved Faith’s character. She was so impressive. I loved the love/lust that Faith and Gray had for each other and at the same time distaste for each other. I loved the antagonism and reasons they fought and tried to stay apart. It was great romantic tension through most of the story. The ending was wonderful and very feel good.

Natalie Ross did an excellent job. (And you don’t hear her breaths - yay!)

Norma To this day I'm one of the few LH fans or even romance readers who didn't enjoy this book. I hated Gray I never felt love romance in this. Then again, I never got the appeal of outlander either. TO each her own i guess. :) Still love that you're taking a trip through old favorites.

Norma, You are not alone. Kathleen hated the way Gray threw out Faith and her down syndrome brother. Gray was being HORRIBLE. But somehow I still liked the book. Maybe partly because he changed later. He could have ruined Faith's business but he didn't. He wanted Faith gone but he told his hotel manager to give perks to Faith's customers.

Anne Jane, I loved especially the great romantic tension between Faith and Gray you mentioned. It kept me turning the pages. Grey was a jerk but but he changed, and that was the point. You have read several of Linda Howard’s books. Is there that kind of tension or character development in other of her stories?
