I liked both main characters separately, but I wish they communicated better. I mean, I understood them, but I feel like the miscommunication went for too long. And I wish the hero was more determined to claim and publicly love the heroine. I liked their first meeting and I would've loved the whole book more, if it didn't take them almost the whole book to admit that they care for each other, especially the hero. I wish he fought more for the heroine.
Now, with that said, I'm a little hesitant about the next book. I'm going to read it, of course, I just hope the hero is more determined to claim the heroine and fight for her. And I think I'm gonna skip the last book in the series. I was curious about Damon since the beginning of the series, but from what I've seen here, I don't think I'd like his book. From what I've seen in previous books, he gives off womanizer vibes, and his heroine seems very inexperienced and sheltered, and that's not something I'm interested in. But these are just my assumptions; I'm certainly going to wait for the book to come out, see if I was right and then decide....more

It was a little over the top and it was a bit annoying how long it actually took them to just start talking. I was also annoyed with the heroine with how long she kept her cupcake secret from the hero and how long she avoided her father. And I disliked the resolution with her mother. I feel like parents should be held accountable and not everything should be so easily forgiven and forgotten. Her mother left her with her father because she couldn't live with his treatment anymore, but she left her daughter to suffer the same destiny. She said how she wanted to take her, but she didn't have the means. But, throughout the years, she never tried to contact her daughter and they met by accident, not because she was looking for her. And, in an instant, all was forgotten. I really disliked that part. Overall, it wasn't the worst book, but I wouldn't call it good either....more

The writing wasn't the best, and there were things that annoyed me, but around 80% it all started to fall apart.
Main things I didn't like:
- I hated that the hero was already into kink and had experience, while the heroine discovered kinks with him. And I hated how many times he compared her to other women he's been with. Even once is too much, and he did it a few times. And what's worse is that, especially in the beginning, he didn't say that she was the best, but one of the best. But saving grace here was that the heroine wasn't a virgin and she actually had good sexual experiences.
- there were too many sex scenes. It was fine in the beginning, but it started to become distracting from the plot and unnecessary.
- it took the hero 70% of the book to decide that he didn't want to get her back to the family but he brought her back anyways.
- Also, I hated how weak and how much of a coward the hero was. After all they've been through, after he told the heroine he loved her, he stood aside and watched another man forcibly kiss her. He even watched that man slap her. He kinda tried to defend her there, but, in the end, he did nothing. And after witnessing that, he left her alone for days, and he did nothing to try and save her.
- I really hated the heroine's family. None of her 3 brothers stood up for her or defended her at any point. And we are supposed to believe that her family is close and loving. Her father basically sold her to a man who killed his wife and son. What kind of mafia boss was he? Where is his pride? Where is everyone's pride? One of the grossest things here was when the heroine's oldest brother said to the hero something like 'someone will kill her husband soon, you can have a chance if you can wait for her'. And the hero said how it'd be too painful to wait, and never mentioned that he'll save her and do something, but he was ready to leave her and move on. I can't describe how gross they all are.
I just can't get over the fact that no one fought for the heroine - not the hero, not her siblings, no one. They were willing to give her away, but not the younger sister. They were all going to let her be abused and possibly killed. Not once had her brothers stood up for her. And I don't understand how her father was a mafia boss, when he was such a pushover. He was going to let his daughter marry a man who killed his wife, a wife he supposedly loved, and son. He should've been dead set on revenge and killing his rival, not marry his daughter to him.
There were other illogical and stupid things that happened, but these are the main ones. There's also an 'accidental' pregnancy near the end. I mean, they did fuck without protection for weeks. I'm not actually sure why that was included, because it was unnecessary. And hero's neighbor who inserted herself in their plans and run away with them. I thought it was so stupid and she was annoying.
I may try the next book in the series, because I already own it, but I will never read books about the heroine's coward brothers....more

The hero was fine, but heroine was insufferable. She's so immature and irresponsible. And the writing was bad too, the heroine kept repeating she's not a spoiled brat, but she kept acting like one. I stopped reading when she left the party after the hero told her not to. And not only did she left, made him worried and made them think the worst when they couldn't find her, but she acted like it was no big deal. She literally said "Oops, my bad". I didn't think it was cute, it was irresponsible and insensitive. She could've made a problem for everyone, and all she had to say was oops. And it was so stupid that she insisted that the hero participate in all the activities. He has a job to do. How can he keep her safe and do his job while he's having dinner with her and her associates? I know that the goal was to make the heroine seem down to earth and kind, but it was just stupid.
The blurb sounded interesting, but the book itself (as far as I read) was terrible. And it's a shame.

Gave this author another chance and it was a mistake. It was horribly written. It was so repetitive and it made the character look stupid, as well as the reader. I stopped reading when she asked him if he killed a vampire and he confirms. The next second she wonders who he could've killed and why. He LITERALLY said that he killed him and you could've deduced why. I really can not describe how dumb this book is and how it makes me think that the author thinks all people who read her books are dumb as well.
And I remember I had the same feelings reading the other book in this series. I was just curious about these characters and I hoped that the writing was better here.

Same shit, different book. He's so hot, all her confidence and self respect disappear. And, of course, it seemed like she only had bad sex and limited experience, while both he and the heroine kept repeating how he's a player and how he was always with different girls, both in past and present. The writing wasn't great either.
