Hernandez was quite sharp, but still pretty funny. One story really stands out about the business savvy Svengali contrasting the reality of how poorly he treated comic creators during an awards speech in which they were actually being honored. Right up there with Fight Club and Survivor and Choke for me. The broken English is hard to figure out at first, but then it becomes really enjoyable. A solid satirical "look in the mirror, America, and see how ugly you can be" tale told from the viewpoint of a communist boy genius with deadly fighting skills pretending to be just a simple foreign exchange student. I agree with Palahniuk when he says he's a romantic because underneath it all, this is kind of a love story......more
