But it has been “3 years” since the first book in the series and it was undeniably an enormous time gap between these two books. 🙂 If you are a new reader of this series, I seriously envy you for being able to devour both books in one sitting because I had to wait years to get this one. 😌 As a result, I couldn’t connect to Rafa and Shane again in the very beginning. I was pretty much really frustrated until the 60% mark in the book for Rafa’s ridiculous insecurities, his mother’s A-game bitchiness and secret service agents’ childish cold shoulder to Shane. 🤬 It is always so difficult to see your favorite characters’ supposed HEA get muddled and messed up again but Keira Andrews more than made up for it with the last 40% of the story. 👏 It was beautiful to see Shane and Rafa once again found their Ying and Yang balance again and how the presidential family finally warming up to Shane, basically how everything worked out in the end. 💙 And this book was scorching hot that my kindle seems to be burning up my fingers. 😂🔥 Keira Andrews writes one of the hottest, smokiest, most erotic gay love scenes and she was very generous with smut in this one. 😏 I guess, it more than made up for the very long-awaited UST from the first book. I definitely think this book would have been a 5 stars rating for me if I could just read two books straight rather than waiting years between them. Well, I couldn’t be happier for the epilogue and how Rafa took the initiative for putting the ring on. It was sweet, romantic, heart-warming and super erotic. So what’s not to like? 😉

And I loved it. ❤️ (Side note: you might wanna read the third book before you read this story though because they are kinda connected. I didn’t but I was able to follow up the story. All his life, he’s been on the run from his twin, always afraid, scared and insecured. 😭 And when he adopted an little orphan rabbit shifter whose parents were killed by none other than his serial killer twin brother, Arthur had more to lose than his own life. And Captain Aries, that sexy bastard, I loved him too. 🥰 He took care of Arthur and made him realize that he’s beautiful and sexy. It was just a really really good story. Well-written, good plot, lovely amount of angst and mystery and pretty sexy. 😉🔥 I have become a fan. 👏 Thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to read more works by this author. 😌

I think this may be the case of “it’s not the book, it’s me” because I really had a hard time connecting with characters and loving this book. 🙃 I thiI think this may be the case of “it’s not the book, it’s me” because I really had a hard time connecting with characters and loving this book. 🙃 I think it was also because I had such high expectations for this one and when they weren’t met, I felt like they really fell short. It was a struggle even to finish the book if I have to be completely honest. 😭 So let me state the facts why this didn’t work for me.
1. Why Colton Conelly? Am I the only one who thinks this name is awkward and unattractive? May be I’m being fastidious but I really didn’t love this name. 😕
2. So many characters were jammed in one story. There are 4 kings, 2 other cousins/friends, and other friends and acquaintances of two MCs that appear out of nowhere for no reason. 😁 It was like “Cirque Du Soleil”. 😬 This is the story about Ace and Colton. I want to read about them. I’m not interested in reading the stories of “how I met my partner” of all of their friends and family. 😞 Because the author put too much effort into these side stories, I have no imagination left for the upcoming stories. I know how they will meet, who will end up with whom and how they will turn out. So it kinda spoilt the surprise factor of upcoming books in the series for me.
3. The story was too slow placed for my liking. It goes this way 1-65% UST between Ace and Colton and trust me, it was not sizzling! 65-80% Non-stop sex ….. suddenly 😑 80-100% The actual kidnapping and the plot twists jammed in a few last pages The story was not balanced for me. I had to push myself through to read until the end. 😪
4. How Colton’s father was very upset when he found out he’s sleeping with his bodyguard to how he suddenly accepted that his son sleeping with his bodyguard is ok and acceptable is in the blink of an eye. It was just unrealistic. 😐
For what it’s worth, I did love how Ace and Colton met in the beginning until around 25% and I didn’t see the kidnapping twist coming in the end and who’s behind it. So kudos for that one. 👏 But the other aspects really fell short for me. I strongly believe that the author’s name or who wrote the book has like 50% impact on the reader’s opinion on a book. 😌 It was because this is Charlie Cochet, I had huge expectations for this book and I felt really let down when they were not met. 😞 If this book was written by an amateur author whose work I’ve never read before, I might be more benevolent and less picky when it comes to rating. 🙂 For now, I’m going to hide in my cave of shame for not loving this book when half of my friends list is raving over this book. 😭

And our sweet and shy househusband Seth has to become the protector for Dom and himself. 😁 And needless to say, he has no idea what to do, where to go or whom to trust except himself and Dom. Meanwhile, Dom doesn’t know whom to trust too. Seth claimed that they are brothers but he’s inexplicably and irrationally attracted to his alleged brother/protector and he’s feeling very guilty. 😉 But for better or for worse, they have no one except each other and they have to stick together. And they need to keep on running because their family won’t relent until both of them are dead. 😭 Will Dom regain his memories or does Seth has to convince him all over again that they belong together? Their future together is uncertain, difficult and hopeless. 😢 Yet, if they want to overcome everything and prove that love truly wins in the end, they’ll need every wit and effort they have to survive this mess. 😌
God, this was a brutal read, especially in the end. 💔 Things were not going well but not that bad in the beginning. Seth was trying to do his best to protect both of them and attempting to escape from the States. And he’s doing a stellar job at that. ☺️ And while Dom still doesn’t remember who he was or what he meant to Seth, he has started to fall in love with Seth all over again and seemed like there finally was a hope for them. 😌 And then, hell broke. 😭 It took me 3 days to finish this novel because I couldn’t bring myself to read Seth’s torture scenes without crying like a babe. 💔😭 Half of the book, I had to hold tissue in one hand to dab my eyes while the other was holding my kindle. But I think everything was worth it in the end. 😊 Seems like that chapter of their lives is finished and they are going to write their new destiny. But knowing K.A. Merikan, I have no idea what kind of hardships and struggles our heroes have to endure again in the future but hopefully they will end up ok. 🙏 After all, isn’t Love worth it to endure whatever it comes in our lives? 😌

Man, talk about the drama. One minute I was happy with how warm and sweet Seth and Dom are and the other, I was crying a bucket load of ugly tears. 😭 K.A. Merikan surely knows how to manipulate and twist their readers’ emotions. ☺️ It seems a bit simpler and slow-paced than the first book in the beginning but wow, the last chapters of the book totally blown me away. 👏 The ultimate sacrifice for your one, true love? Hell, yeah! I brawled like a child! 😭 Yet, it makes me hopeful, optimistic and happy about how far Seth and Dom have come. 😌 Relationships are all about trials and errors and lord knows theirs is one of the most difficult and challenging one. 🙂 I’m excited and thrilled to see Seth in control for a change in third book. Merikan and I got started off on the wrong foot with ”Kings of Hell MC” series. 😁 When the first book Laurent and the Beast came out, it was so hyped and popular that I couldn’t wait to read that book. But unfortunately, I chose the wrong book for my first Merikan addiction. 😭 It wasn’t what I expected, not because of the reasons that you would think, it’s because it wasn’t as dark, twisted and fucked-up as I thought it would be. 😑 So I was quite hesitant to pick up another book of them. I knew this series has been insanely popular and it was on my TBR list but until recently, I had no idea that MCs of this series are half-brothers. 😱 Needless to say, it spiked up the interest of my twisted, dark heart. 😂 Let me tell you, I’m all about keeping it in the family! *wink wink* 😉 I really really REALLY love relationships and love stories between family members and there aren’t a lot of authors out there who are ballsy enough to venture out into this taboo territory. 😌 When I learnt that there’s a whole series out there featuring morally ambiguous MCs, I couldn’t be happier. ☺️ And I’m kicking myself in my imaginary nuts (in my mind, I do have a total package down there with a massive shalong! 🤣) that I didn’t pick up this series sooner. If there’s one thing that Dom despises above anything else, that’s self-entitled, rich, spoilt, privileged kids who don’t know how lucky they are. 😌 But even puss-brained cowards do have their own charm and Dom was unreasonably attracted to that ninny as soon as he laid his eyes on him. 😉 And now, the devils in Dom are not in rein, waiting their chance to devour and destroy their prey, the gullible Seth. 😏

I think this book is more coherent and well-written than the first book. MCs are not separated most of the time. After a few pages in the very beginning of the book, they were together all the time through thick and thin despite the mistrusts and lies. I love that we get the glimpses of the main couple, Fisher and Zach, and enigmatic side character Seth in this one. The UST between Will and Hunter was simply delicious. That sizzling UST makes it that much tastier when we actually get to these two’s mating. 😍 It was primal, raw, hot and oh-so-forbiddenly-sexy! 🔥 Loved every second of it. 💋 The chemistry between Will and Hunter is natural, addicting and thrilling and it carried on until the very end of the book. 👏 It was nice to see Will’s older brother, Peter, isn’t all evil in the end. Hunter and Will really had to go through a lot to get their happy ending and it was lovely to see them to get their much deserved HEA in the end despite everything. 😊 The epilogue was lovely and sweet. 😍 I can’t wait to read the third book of this delicious series because I like Seth. I hope this series won’t stop with just three books and HelenKay Dimon will write more in the future. 😌

Jack doesn’t know whom to trust and how to deal with everything. Meanwhile, even a year after he escaped from the gruesome desert of Australia, he’s still dealing with betrayals, flashbacks of his past and PTSD. It’s either trust himself and his instincts or be swallowed in this whole hellish catastrophe. 😌
What a unique style of writing! 😱 The alternate chapters of past and present and it beautifully worked for this story. 👏 I can’t write the detailed characteristics of MCs as usual because I simply don’t know how to explain them. Speaking of, I’m dying to read Blade’s PoV. 😁 It would be so enrapturing to read the twisted and pitch dark mind of that assassin. 😉 Blade is the epitome of contradiction! The good and the bad, the right and the wrong, the just and unjust. 😌 You won’t get any idea about what the hell you are reading until 15-20% but keep going anyway. 😂 It’s slow burn at first but flaming and sizzling hot starting from the middle. I don’t know how to label this novel too. Is it steampunk? Sci-fi? Contemporary? Crime thriller? 🤔 Hell, this is the kind of book that you have to live yourself to retell the story. And the sex? Oh, that fu*king glorious sex! 😍 There were fireworks, stars, volcanoes eruption and earthquakes when these two finally had sex. 🔥🌋🔥 The enthralling yet equally frustrating UST of almost 300 pages was worth it! 😱 I can’t wait, I just can’t wait for more books in the series. 😭 I need a next book like ASAP! The smut and filthiness though, Oooooo, my ears are still burning red. 😂 And talk about insta-love, what about insta-porn? 😁 Seriously, they just jumped onto bed and devoured each other. 😜 This story strongly reminds me of yaoi and doujinshi genres minus very feminine MCs. 😁 I’d have given this book even higher rating if I wasn’t satisfied with one thing. Rusty is an alpha werewolf and we all knows wolves are very possessive, jealous and monogamous. At one point of the story, another alpha tried to touch Sam and Rusty went berserk. And then he planned to share his omega with his pack on the full moon? 🙄 It just doesn’t make sense. Normally, I won’t complain much since this is not a serious read but still, the contradiction for this one is just a bit too much. 😒 If the author intended to write a ménage out of this series, she should have never portrayed alphas in this universe as possessive and jealous. Just saying. Still, the smut was worth it. 😁 I guess I’ll be picking up the rest of the series when I need a bit of a pick-me-up from heavy reads.

Who are his birth parents? How is he both an incubus and a vampire? And along the way, our hero acquired a new pet, Jet the Gargoyle. 😁 To make things even more complicated, there’s now an oracle emerging and Matthew found himself needing to rescue her from the Incubi army. While running away, he turned Sam, the oracle, by accident and she became his sired child. And you think things are still not complicated enough? 😂 Meet Devak, the guardian of Matthew who are cursed and can’t answer anything Matthew asked. 😁 The only consistence Matthew gets from Devak is being called “Prince” without any explanation. While running away and trying to protect his accidental sired child, Matthew realized that these Misfits became his family. 😍 He truly cares for Sam and he began to have romantic feelings for Devak. He knows that sleeping with Devak who is his guardian to satiate his Incubus side is not really a wise choice. However, the heart wants what it wants. 😌 Meanwhile, he still can’t let go Tarrick despite the fact that he betrayed him and broke his heart. Can a person love two people at the same time? Or one is just an infatuation and one’s true love? While he has been fighting a battle in his heart, the battle between Vampire and Incubi is not getting better too. Both sides become more violent, ruthless and both trying to annihilate each other. All Matthew wants is to be left alone and be with the family he acquired along his journey. Will he gets what he wants? 😌
I freaking adore Devak in this book. He’s ying to Matthew’s yang. 😍 Matthew absolutely deserves to be happy. They both really love each other and Devak would do anything to protect Matthew and he’d forever cherish him. I’m really glad that there’s another person in Matthew’s life who truly cherishes and loves him. And Sam, the oracle/Matthew’s sired daughter is so witty and bossy and sassy and funny. Cunning, manipulative little minx. 😂👏 And even Jet the gargoyle was super dope. Loves everything about the book. 😘 And it’s truly fascinating and interesting. Kept me on the edge all the time. Except the ending. 😒 I truly hoped Jex Lane’s not going to be that cruel. But she freaking broke my heart. 💔 I’m still not getting over the heartbreak she gave me. Whyyyyy??? Whyyyyyy? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??????? 😭 Poor Matthew, he deserves to be happy. So if you have read book 2, you must have known that Matthew was captured by the bastard Malarath at the end of it. 🤬 And two-third of the book 3 is about Matthew’s living hell. 💔 Fixated on breaking his pet, Malarath tortured and degraded and humiliated Matthew in any way you can possibly imagine. 😭 And to make the things worse, Matthew is starting to hallucinate of his dead lover, Devak. His scent, his images, his warmth is appearing from time to time. Although Mathew knows that this is just his imagination, the reminder of Devak is the only thing that barely kept his sanity. Devak was everything for him and now he’s gone. 💔😭 What is there left to live for? He’s barely alive just for the sake of his two daughters. He wants to die … but he knows that even after death, Devak is not waiting for him. He’s gone … forever. 💔 And he’s surrounded by enemies. Once his allies, vampires fear and hate him. Incubi downright loathe and fear him. The judge is coming soon to kill him because he was born of a goddess and is a demigod. Nobody trusts him and nobody wants him. Matthew is truly broken as the title suggested. 💔😭💔 Will he find some hope to live for? To not give up? Can he find happiness again after those years of nothing but shittiness? 😌
So be warned, if you are not ok with “RAPE”, you can’t read this book. This is not even the level of dub-con/non-con, this is pure “RAPE”. And Matthew suffered ass cringing, goosebump getting extreme tortures. 😭 So if you aren’t ok with this kind of theme, you can’t read this series. I’m so very glad that there’s finally hope for Matthew. I really want nothing more than to read him kill that bastard Malarath. 🤬 I have soooooooo many questions and I need the answers now. Tarrick is proving to be not so assh*le in this book but I still don’t like him. 😒 I don’t hate him anymore but I don’t like him. 😒 I can’t be happier that Devak isn’t really dead. 😇 Usually, I hate ménage and love trios but now that I’m so elated, I don’t care what happens as long as Matthew ends up with Devak in the end. Jude is a lonely but extremely successful musician who was on celibacy for six freaking years because he was so afraid of getting hurt by trusting someone and getting his heart broken. And Derick came from a very southern and conservative and homophobic family and has been living in the closet for his whole life. And things got interesting very quickly when these two closeted guys found out that they are gay and they decided to enjoy each other's hot bodies without the drama of emotions and keep it casual.
However, Jude can't resist falling for Derick since he's very protective, caring, loving and such a good listener and the same goes for Derick falling for Jude who's very kind, charitable, secretly-goofy and a VERY good cuddler.
I like that they don't get a HEA straight away and they had to fight with their inner fears and past traumas to realize what they really want in their life. 😌 Very well written, full of fun and humor, emotional and yet very sexy.🔥 Marians are just incorrigible and mischievous bunch of people and I just can’t get enough of this gang! 😁 I'm very glad that Lucy is able to carry off spark until the third book in this series. 😍 I can't wait to read the remaining books in this series though. 😉

When Shane became Rafa aka Valor's guard, the poor boy couldn't help but hopelessly fell in love with the older man. The whole story has been a thrilling train ride.
