I was planning to love it as much as I love War and Peace. I did not. I didn't hate it either, I just didn't feel anything for it. AbRating : 2 stars?
I was planning to love it as much as I love War and Peace. I did not. I didn't hate it either, I just didn't feel anything for it. Absolutely nothing. No anger, no frustration, no sympathy for any of the characters. I tried, desesperately tried, but reading Anna Karenina was kind of watching an indian movie with chinese subtitles ; I didn't get it.
It was too dense, the 900 or so pages felt like three thousands and it was like the characters were competiting to be the one making the poorest choices all through the book.
Boy i'm disappointed. And i'm pretty sure I just totally missed the purpose of the book.
