I love reading about fictionalized pop groups and etc but this one fell really flat for me. I didn't love the writing style and I also didn't love any of the characters. We follow Kat throughout this book but honestly I think we all can agree it should have been told from Summer's point of view. I truly wanted to love this and sad I didn't but that happens....more

I love Backman's books & have read all of them so I love his writing but this book didn't live up for me. The first 100 pages are rough to get through and by the end you do love every character but it just feels disjointed at times...and confusing. Backman has an amazing way of writing seriously but with a funny undertone and he delivers here but a little to much on the funny. Overall I gave it a 3, I didn't really love it. ...more

Now as an overweight woman myself this is a very conservational and sensitive topic. I love who I am and my personality but I don’t love my body. In fact, I hate it..so to read about women who went to fat camp and also struggle with their bodies was tough. . Throughout reading this book I had a lot of the same thoughts these women have and I did enjoy their journey. . So this book deals with tough things and body image but I liked the journey it took and at the end these women were happy with who they are on the inside and the outside. . My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 Huge thanks to @berkleypub for sending me a copy!...more

The characters in this book were messy, the friendships were messy and the romance was messy but I actually enjoyed that. It showed realistic relationships and how messy everyone is and how flawed we all are. . It’s a quick read at only 276 pages and the ending and whole book was bittersweet. I love the idea of the dinner party and how it was written! . My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️...more
