I would actually read this after the 14th and before the 15th book of that series just because it makes more sense. If you wondered what happened to Thracken Sal-Solo and (most of) the Peace Brigade leadership in the series, this book may have some answers. However, it's not really necessary to read it if you don't want it....more

About four different scenarios were going on. The bulk of the book centered around a revisit to Bakura and the Ssi-Ruu. Parts of the Bakura story took place both in space and on the ground. There was also a trip to Chiss space and their library, but it didn't take up a large portion of the book. Nom Amor is also present, but nothing changes with that story, there.
I'm looking forward to reading the next book....more

The next book looks interesting, so I bought that one to read unabridged, too.
I didn't think this book was filler. I thought it had some good storylines going on in it. There was less politics than the previous few books in the series....more

I listened to the abridged version and I think they did a very good job with the important plot points. I know the book version had much more about Han and Leia trying to establish resistance bases and cells as well as having problems with one particular world. However, I get the feeling that it was more filler with that storyline. Han and Leia were in neither of these two audiobooks. While I'm glad that they omitted that storyline, I would have appreciated it if the audiobook made a mention or two about where they were so I'm not left wondering....more

I gave it 4 stars because, to me, it felt like some of the voice acting was "over the top" and overdone. However, I liked the production and the sound effects made this more like listening to a movie and not a book.
The story was OK. In this audio play, you begin to see the connection between this series and the part one books. You see members of the Ro family and the Leveler makes an appearance. You are getting a look at the "seeds" of what happened in the other series. ...more
