Nita Prose had me from page 1, I had a hard time trying to put this book down. Think of any ritzy glamourous hotel and this is where Molly, is the head maid. While I could figure out some of the plot line, Molly spelling things to her grandmother, why her grandmother works so hard as a maid for the Grimthorpes and, why Molly has such high standards, I could not figure out the who done it part!
Molly is a hard worker with very high standards and she follows those standards, in her personal life as well as her work life. When a famous author (Mr. Grimthorpe) dies at a special event, it looks like Molly or her maid in training planned the entire fiasco.
Molly has to use her unique perspective to figure out who did it and what reason the person had to committed murder. One of the abilities Molly has is to look at the tinniest details; details the average person would not notice.
Molly ends up working with a detective that is not real fond of her and feels Molly is a bit of an oddball. Molly finally, wins over the detective and they end up working together to figure out the killer.
There are several smaller mysteries in the story line and there is one huge one that had me saying, you got to be kidding me, yet I was so happy about it Ms. Prose had me crying tears of joy.
I have not read Nita Prose's first book, The Maid, it is now on my to read list. I am looking forward to reading more stories where Molly, Head Maid uses her special talents in solving mysteries!...more

I kept thinking of the TV shows, where the investigator, came to conclusions in ways most investigators would never use the same method. Shows like Columbo and Monk.
This is a story of the drug mafia, double crossing and, money. Antonia Scott is a forensic investigator that processes crimes scenes in a unique and odd method. She has a handler that is named Jon, he actually is the investigator. They are part of a project called Red Queen, in the European countries.
With Antonia's unique abilities, she has the task of looking for a woman (Lola) who managed to get away from a hitman. The reader, follows Antonia through the many different crime scenes, and each interaction he reader, learns more of the backstory.
I really want to say more but it would give away the plot (sorry). If you like thrilling mysteries and stories that involve crime; I highly recommend this book!...more

Mrs. Orlando, this book kept me on the edge of my seat!!! I had no idea what to expect and when I thought I did, I was usually incorrect.
Why would you visit a haunted house in October, when you can own one that gets active every September? Empty nesters finally purchase a home, a luxury they never had growing up, it is everything they ever wanted until September comes around. The first couple of years, they made excuses, for the oddities occurring.
Then, things change...Hal falls of the wagon, Margaret has Tolliver by the rules she followed in her early marriage, the house seems more active and her daughter, Katherine, decides to visit.
You learn that Margaret does a lot of research (after the surprises happen in September) and she learns the rules to try and keep activity down as much as possible.
Without giving anything away, I hope, no one believes Margaret and Hal just want to ignore. Then Kathrine comes home and everything she is thinking, compounds her mother's rules and thoughts.
This book ends in such an interesting way, I did not see that either!...more

Ms Khan, writes in detail how fast race relations can change when police and/or civilians are involved. When people hold grudges and plan revenge it effects at least 2 families sometimes more.
In this particular book, there is a unit called Community Response Unit (CRU), police who investigate crimes that often involve police. They often try to diffuse a situation with a community, so more violence does not erupt.
Two events occur that are unexpected and involve police, without bashing police, Ms Khan lets the reader know (in my case feel) what all the parties are feeling an how the occurrence effects all involved both personally and at work.
I am so glad that I read this book; it gives insight to how people, jump to conclusions when we don't have the facts and how quickly things can escalate....more

Strange events keep happening at the park and Delphi wants to know why. I would expect, based on the title, there would be some major hint or clue that they figure out, at the end of the workday.
The story was slow and very confusing, feel like I wasted my time reading this book ....more

Without giving too much of the plot away, the protagonist (Rachel Krall) is asked to come to Florida to help the FBI with a case, that hopefully will keep the criminal in jail. Terence Bailey, professes his innocence (don't they all).
The FBI and Rachel end up in a dangerous undercover game, Rachel with her true crime skills, follows leads that the police never followed up on; as well as leads that no one would tell the police but they would Rachel. The whole time I was reading I was thinking that was shoddy police work.
Rachel's determination and refusal to return home (FBI request) lead her into some dangerous and informative situations.
A serial killer is hidding in plain sight, the FBI are determined to keep Bailey in jail and, Rachel os deteremined to find the truth!
This was one huge rollercoaster ride as the reader is following Rachel, who is determined to do what is right. ...more

I don't want to include any spoilers in my review, so you will have to read this wonderful book! BTW It's the first book in a series. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this series. Ms. Slan had me from the first page.

The characters in the book made, what I considered as obvious slip ups in their conversations. I also felt that Inspector Merveille could have played a more central character in the plot.
This was, what I call a quick fun read and I did enjoy the conversations between Julia and Tabitha, I would also like to dig deeper into Tabatha's, Grandpere and Oncle Rafe. Personally, I can see a book all about their exploits....more

This book is called Ghost Cats 2 however, the stories in the book, could apply to any pet. I was fascinated to read these heart warming stories, very easy to relate to as I am an animal lover. Some of the stories made me giggle because, I could relate to the story being shared.
