I loved that each man had found his support system and people that really got him and loved him. I would dearly love to be somewhere where I was appreciated, encouraged and cherished. Roscoe has been a bit of a cipher throughout the series, always in the background, but never center stage. His story is really well done. He and Simone are good together. Simone’s internal monologue is hilarious and super smart. It’s a feel good romance for sure, with less emphasis on the Iron Wraith MC, which I appreciated. Now tell me that Billy’s story is next.

I was a bit disoriented at the start of this book, as I didn’t recall the details of the Elder Gods, and the Otherworlds featured in The Chosen. After that, I settled in to read the story of an awesome heroine and the strong hero. Their love story is contrasted with the beginning of a war. I really just want more of the story between these two.

Ms. Charles is an amazing writer. Clem and Rowley are great heroes. But they were overwhelmed by the number if issues each man had and the mystery. I feel that the story would have been enough with Clem, Rowley and the mystery. Having Clem also have issues (on the spectrum?) was just too much. Or maybe it was just emphasized too much. Ah well, it’s well written and the suspense was quite exciting. I also learned more than I ever wanted to know about Victorian era animal preservationists (taxidermists)…
