Non so precisamente cosa mi aspettavo da una lettura come Io sono buio. Sapevo che la protagonist sarebbe stata la figlia di Dracula, e questo mi è baNon so precisamente cosa mi aspettavo da una lettura come Io sono buio. Sapevo che la protagonist sarebbe stata la figlia di Dracula, e questo mi è bastato. Se ci aggiungiamo una cover stupenda, avete capito come mai è stato aggiunto immediatamente alla wishlist. Ora, non è che io ne sia rimasta delusa... ma quasi. Il fatto è che, non ho idea del motivo, ma mi aspettavo un qualche risvolto fantasy che, ovviamente, non è arrivato. Probabilmente questo ha inficiato nel mio giudizio, ma non è l'unica cosa che mi ha portata a dare tre stelline. Il problema, secondo me, è lo stile trascinato. C'è davvero pochissima azione e per un libro che promette perfidia e spietatezza mi aspettavo qualcosa in più. Fra l'altro non ho apprezzato in particolar modo nè Mehmed (forse a causa delle tradizioni ottomane del quindicesimo secolo) nè, soprattutto, Lada, che mi è stata profondamente antipatica per la maggior parte della narrazione. Le scene sono lente, diluite in un tempo quasi infinito, e questo secondo me è il problema maggiore, nonchè quello che tento sempre di evitare in un libro: la lentezza. Nonostante questo credo che il lavoro della White sia stato egregio, non è facile scrivere una rivisitazione storica perchè, ovvimente, hai tutta la storia che ti rema contro mentre tenti di conciliare realtà e fantasia. In ogni caso sono indecisa se leggere o meno il seguito, e questo di solito è indice del fatto che il primo libro non mi ha particolarmente colpita....more

Dovrebbe essere un retelling di cappuccetto rosso, di cui comunque ha poco, ma il problema principale è che è super confusionario, soprattutto nella prima metà. Le cose non vengono molto spiegate, vengono lasciate tutte per lo più all'immaginazione e ci sono avvenimenti ed azioni nominate magari per la prima volta che però non vengono spiegate, come se fosse logico conoscerle, quando non è così. Ormai Tamara, Call e Aaron sono al terzo anno del Magisterium è finalmente si percepisce un po' di adolescenza in più. Cominciano i primi problemi d'amore, le prime rivalità che nulla hanno a che fare col nemico della morte, si consolidano le amicizie e ne crollano altre. In definitiva non è stato male. La pecca, secondo me, è la mancanza di azione nella metà del libro. Insomma abbiamo un barlume di azione nelle prime 20 pagine e poi per i grandi colpi di scena bisogna uova e te aspettare le ultime 50/100 pagine. Peccato, perché così l'interesse diminuisce. In definitiva però gli ultimi capitoli mi sono piaciuti, c'è stata azione e dei colpi di scena davvero inaspettati. Certo non siamo ai livelli dei capolavori delle due autrici, ma si stanno riprendendo....more

Alcune curiosità presenti nel libro le sapevo (erano state menzionate ne "La magia dei film" ma mi ha completamente catturata lo stesso. Insomma, tutti vogliono essere maghi da quando è uscito HP, e questo libro spiega come essi sono nati da un'idea della Row fino ad arrivare al grande schermo. Ci sono curiosità tecniche che comunque non risultano essere incomprensibili, ci sono piccoli segreti mai svelati. Insomma è super divertente leggere le idee che attori e costumisti avevano dei personaggi, dei lorpo vestiti, delle loro attitudini, per poi vederle messe in pratica!...more

In quanto copione dello spettacolo teatrale, è in questo senso che va recensito. Detto questo, posso cominciare.
La storia prende vita 19 anni dopo la fine de I Doni della Morte e sulla trama non dirò altro, perchè io l'ho cominciato totalmente alla cieca e credo sia meglio cosi. La storia, di per sè, essendo spettacolo teatrale, presenta a volte delle scene slegate fra di loro, quindi può risultare difficile stare al passo con la "narrazione" dato che capita che si balzi di luogo in luogo. Nonostante questo a me ha preso, l'ho finito in due giorni. Certo, non sono la più grande fan di Albus e probabilmente se fosse stato figlio mio avrebbe preso mazzate a due a due finchè non sarebbero diventate dispari, ma comunque.... alla fin fine è di un adolescente che si parla, uno con alle spalle il glorioso passato eroico del padre. Non tutti gli adolescenti, però, sono Harry Potter. Alcuni sono un po' idioti ed infantili, a volte schiacciati da dei finti bagagli da rispettare che li ostacolano soltanto. Questo è il caso di Albus, che diciamocelo, nella maggior parte della storia non fa una gran figura. Harry mi è piaciuto. Eravamo abituati all'adolescente che non sbaglia mai, al supereroe. Ma Harry era solo un ragazzo ed ora è solo un uomo. E, in quanto tale, sbaglia. Ho AMATO Ron ed Hermione, come sempre. Ma, rivelazione delle rivelazioni: Scorpius. E' troppo. Il mio personaggio preferito in assoluto. Assennato, intelligente, simpatico, leale. Poi ha i geni Malfoy e con un padre come Draco non si può non essere magnifici. :D Per quanto riguarda la trama, in alcuni casi, è deboluccia. Si, mi riferisco al 'nemico' della storia. Mi è sembrato un po' assurdo come sia nato questo personaggio... dico davvero. Non riesco a immaginare un avvenimento del genere, soprattutto dato come vengono descritti i personaggi nella saga. Ma vabbè, ci si adatta! Metto 4 stelline perchè in realtà sarebbero 3.5 ma più votate verso il 4 che non verso il 3.

Mi sono divertita tantissimo a leggerlo, non mi sono mai annoiata, lo stile con cui è scritto è super scorrevole e non ci sono molti termini tecnici. Alex è una Mezzosangue, frutto di una unione di una Pura e di un umano. Come tale, ha dei poteri che sono utilissimi nella sconfitta dei daimon, nemesi dei Puri. Le cose, però, non sono così semplici come sembrano. Partiamo da Alex, che ho apprezzato molto come protagonista. E' tosta, ci sa fare e non si fa influenzare da nessuno, pur avendo 17 anni. La sua storia mi è piaciuta, dimostra di essere più matura della sua età ma contemporaneamente conserva ancora un pò di quei comportamenti tipici degli adolescenti, cosa che ha donato più realismo alla storia. Aiden, uno dei due personaggi principali maschili (sì, a quanto pare alla Armentrout piace lanciare triangoli di qua e di là nei suoi paranormal), è fantastico. Serio ma forte, divertente quando vuole, bellissimo ed irresistibile. I presupposti ci sono tutti. C'è anche Seth, che non sono riuscita ad inquadrar bene in tutto ciò. Sulla storia posso dire che è accattivante, in un certo qual senso nuova, e sono molto curiosa di sapere dove andrà a parare. Certo, alcune cose sono prevedibili, ma comunque è una lettura scorrevole, che intrattiene, con un minimo di suspance e con emozioni condivise. Consigliato!...more

Dopo settimane, anzi, dopo quasi un mese, l'ho finalmente finito. Il problema de "La corona di fuoco" è che per le prime 165/180 pagine è pesante come un macigno. Per un buon terzo del libro non ho sopportato nessuno dei personaggi, Celaena, Chaol, Dorian, Rowan, Maeve, Manon. NESSUNO. Sembravano tanti inetti, quelli già incontrati avevano addirittura perso la verve che li aveva contraddistinti nei primi due libri. Poi, il cambiamento è stato radicale, e questo mi ha fatto totalmente cambiare idea sulla storia e sul libro. Ho cominciato ad apprezzare Rowan, ad affezionarmi a Manon e al suo drago, a rispettare nuovamente Celaena.. non c'era molto che la Maas potesse fare per farmi apprezzare Dorian, ma verso la fine ci è anche piuttosto riuscita. La trama sta maturando, votandosi verso un vero high fantasy, e la cosa mi piace molto. Sono curiosa di vedere cosa succederà!!...more

Ragazzi, questo libro è stato una bomba *-* Anche se, come una sciocca, ho letto "Le sfide di Apollo, l'oracolo nascosto" prima de "Il sangue dell'Olimpo" quindi mi sono spoilerata un paio di cose importanti, questo non mi ha rovinato per niente la lettura. Ho adorato follemente questa conclusione di saga, trovo sia stata un'ottima chiusura per una saga stupenda. La trama è, fin dai tempi di Percy Jackson, fenomenale. Sarà che amo la mitologia e tutto ciò ad essa collegato, ma mi sono fomentata come una ragazzina alla scoperta degli dei minori e delle vicende che i Sette devono affrontare. Non mi soffermo su Leo, Percy, ed Annabeth, che ho amato alla follia fin dal primo momento e per cui il mio amore non cambierà nemmeno fra mille anni. Voglio invece soffermarmi su due personaggi che, FINALMENTE, mi hanno fatto ricredere. Ebbene, signori e signore, diamo il benvenuto a Jason e Piper! Ammetto che Piper aveva cominciato a convincermi già da "La casa di Ade" dove dimostra forza oltre che una cornucopia che spara cibo senza limiti. Ne "il sangue dell'Olimpo" la sua trasformazione è finalmente completa. Piper rimane figlia di Afrodite ma non si limita a rimirarsi i vestiti e a piangersi addosso per le disgrazie che la circondano. E' forte, determinata, consapevole di se stessa e da un aiuto attivo al gruppo. ...cosa che, fino ad ora, non si è potuta dire di Jason lo Svenuto. A parte l'ironia che Riordan ha dedicato agli innumerevoli svenimenti di Jason nei libri precedenti, stavolta il personaggio finalmente è come un vero figlio di Giove dovrebbe essere. E' forte, NON SVIENE MAI, aiuta gli amici e sbaraglia i nemici come la degna progenie del signore degli dei. EVVIVA! Ci è solo voluta la conclusione di saga. LOL Non ho appunti negativi da fare a questo libro, l'ho adorato. Ho amato il modo in cui Riordan si è liberato di Ottaviano e ho amato Nico. Nico, tesoro piccolo cucciolo demoniaco. Abbandonata la sua aura pessimista è fantastico! Ho adorato i momenti di apertura con Reyna, il suo cambiamento e, AVE, il suo sorriso! Ho amato Percy Jackson e gli Eroi dell'Olimpo, ma Riordan non mi aveva conquistata con le Kane Chronicles e Magnus Chase. Con le Sfide di Apollo, invece, ha rapito il mio cuore! Io mi sono fatta alcuni spoiler perchè non ho ancora letto Il Sangue dell'Olimpo, ma questo non mi ha impedito di apprezzare totalmente il povero Apollo che, tornato umano per cause misteriose, è costretto ad affrontare delle sfide contro antichi nemici. Apollo è un personaggio esilarante. Non spicca per modestia o intelligenza, ma dalla prima pagina fa morire dalle risate! Scordatevi il dio egocentrico ed egoista delle saghe precedenti, Apollo qui si umanizza.. beh, non subito, ma comunque il cambiamento c'è! Non perde comunque il suo atteggiamento un po' egocentrico,ma il suo personaggio diverte ed insegna. Affronta le prove sul suo cammino con pensieri esilaranti ma dimostra presto di essere un protagonista valoroso. Ho amato le sue interazioni con Percy Jackson, che ricompare a sprazzi nel libro cosi come alcuni personaggi delle saghe precedenti. E' stato come un ritorno a casa per me, completamente azzeccato. Riordan non ha sbagliato un passo in questo libro. E' avvincente, scherzoso, mitologico, divertente. Non sono riuscita a trovarvi un difetto! Ho amato anche l'intreccio fra mitologia greca e romana, i colpi di scena inseriti non me li aspettavo e sono curiosissima di sapere in che direzione continuerà la saga. Per me L'oracolo Nascosto è stato un successone, Apollo un protagonista fantastico e la sua spalla, Meg, adorabile. Anche se non è il primo aggettivo con cui la descrivereste! Lei è sicuramente stata una delle chicche della narrazione, con il suo modo di fare diretto e spigliato, nonostante sia ancora ragazzina! Magnus Chase, La Spada Del Guerriero è il primo libro nella nuova serie di Rick Riordan dedicata agli dei norreni. Finalmente lo stile ritorna ad essere quello di Percy Jackson che io avevo amato: frizzante, simpatico, colmo di battute ed autoironia. Il protagonista è Magnus.. ed è morto. Ebbene sì, la storia comincia proprio con un normalissimo ragazzo morto!! Riordan sa come stupire, non c'è che dire. Da morto, Magnus conoscerà le sue origini, la sua missione, ed imparerà che tutte le leggende norrene che ha appreso fin da bambino forse leggende non erano. Ora, nulla da dire riguardo la trama, è interessante come ogni trama di Riordan, così come non ho nulla da dire sullo stile di scrittura. Quello che non mi ha convinto di questa storia (così come in realtà era successo con il primo libro delle Kane Chronicles) è stato il modo in cui si è sviluppata. All'inizio ho pensato solo che procedesse in modo lento poichè era l'inizio, ma in realtà ho trovato tutta la storia un pò faticosa da seguire. Sarà perchè non sono un'esperta degli dei nordici e questo mi ha impedito di afferrarne i nomi o le situazioni specifiche, ma non mi ha completamente conquistata. Mi è dispiaciuto tantissimo, perchè Magnus come protagonista ha molte potenzialità, così come la storia.. ho apprezzato anche il cammeo ad Annabeth ma non so, nella sua totalità qualcosa in questo libro non mi ha convinto....more

TIOTT è il libro di mezzo nella trilogia di The Queen of the Tearling e, sfatando totalmente il mito che i libri di mezzo sono quelli più lenti delle trilogie, posso affermare con sicurezza che questo mi è piaciuto più del primo! Kelsea, regina del Tearling, è costretta ad affrontare l'attacco dei Mort, che sono sempre più vicini al suo regno. Non è questo l'unico problema che, però, la regina deve affrontare nel corso di questa storia. I gioielli che porta al collo la stanno cambiando, dentro e fuori, e le concedono visioni di una donna, Lily, che è vissuta prima del Passaggio. Come ho già detto l'unico punto ostico della lettura, a mio parere, sono i capitoli troppo lunghi con troppi POV presenti senza esser nettamente divisi. Ovviato però questo problema, la lettura di TIOTT è avvolgente, riesce a catturare un lettore in un fantasy vecchio stampo, in cui il fulcro è la storia di un popolo, il suo destino e le decisioni che una regina prende in virtù di esso. E' una lettura descrittiva, certo, ma questo non le toglie verve e non la rende pesante, anzi, aiuta a capire meglio i mille aspetti della storia da tante sfaccettature diverse. Ho AMATO il POV di Lily, la sua storia, la visione di com'era il mondo prima del Tearling, prima del Passaggio. Vivevo in virtù di quella narrazione, anelavo a sapere sempre un pò di più della vita di Lily, una vita da persona ricca ma povera d'amore. La Johansen ha fatto un lavoro egregio nell'inserirla nella narrazione principale, conferendole suspance ed intensità. Kelsea mi è piaciucchiata. Finalmente abbiamo un personaggio che dimostra l'età che ha -19- e, in virtù di ciò, a volte prende decisioni sbagliate. Certo, a volte è infantile, ma l'ho adorata nelle sue vesti di regina, forte e determinata, per nulla ragazzina. Mi sono piaciute le sue interazioni con il dolce padre Tayler, di cui vorrò sapere di più nel romanzo conclusivo della serie, e con Lazarus, uno dei miei personaggi preferiti di sempre. L'elemento magico è spettacolare, sottile ma ben definito senza però essere prevedibile. Non ruba la scena a Kelsea, anzi, è parte di lei senza sovrastarla. Insomma, per me è un libro che vale la pena leggere, mi è piaciuto ancor più del primo e attendo con ansia la conclusione di questa trilogia splendida, antica ma anche molto moderna....more

Non mi dilungo sulla trama, perchè insomma, la conoscono tutti e, in realtà, è meglio entrare nel libro sapendo le minori notizie possibili. I personaggi sono caratterizzati bene, leggendo si entra completamente nel mondo degli Shadowhunters ma anche nella intimità di ogni individuo. E quindi, questo, ci porta ad Emma. Emma, orfana, che è amante, in un certo senso, del pericolo. Non si lascia intimorire da nulla o quasi, è spericolata, disposta a tutto per aggiungere il suo obiettivo. E poi abbiamo Julian, il fratello medio Blackthorn, che in COHF si era visto strappare il padre da Sebastian e i fratelli, Mark ed Helen, dal Conclave. E amate Julian. E Mark. E Cristina. E Tavvy. E tutti i Blackthorn. Ho adorato che nella novella finale ci fossero Clary e tutti i protagonisti della serie TMI. Lati negativi: è molto corale ed un po' lento, si fa un po' fatica....more

Con il suo solito umorismo salace, le battute divertenti e anche un pò di pepe nello stile di narrazione, Percy ci fa conoscere avventure mitiche che ognuno dovrebbe in qualche modo sapere e che, in un modo o nell'altro, sono ricorrenti all'interno della letteratura e dell'epica greca. Il modo di scrivere di Percy e, per riflesso, di Riordan stesso è sempre affascinante e divertente. Mi ha fatta ridere più volte per il modo in cui presenta i personaggi e soprattutto per le battute non troppo carine nei confronti della dea che preferisce di meno, Era, e del dio che ama di più, Poseidone (chissà perchè ahahah). Sulle 12 storie non ho nulla da dire, sono classiche, famose, conosciute. In ogni caso è uno spin-off che secondo me non può mancare per un appassionato della saga di Jackson e anche per un amante della letteratura/epica greca narrata in modo non convenzionale....more
