Thoughts: I really enjoyed reading this! I felt like I was actually in 1905 New York and that part was really fun. At times it was hard to remember that Philomena isn't an adult yet. With her living on her own and having a job, plus the budding relationship it was so easy to forget how young she is, just 16 (15 at the start of the book). She's such a strong character though, and so easily likable. This story can be a stand-alone and everything is explained when something from book 1 is brought up but I would still suggest starting with the first book (it was good lol).

Thoughts: This was such a fun read, so many unexpected twists and surprising turns that kept me glued to the page! And the characters, you never knew what fantastical creature you might meet next. Edna is such a strong character. Despite being quite sheltered her whole life, she doesn't back down from the unknown. And her ability to accept said creatures without a lot of judgement, many could learn from her. Granted she was still fearful and guarded but she was willing to trust, sometimes too willing, which was usually good but a few times ended up being a bad idea.
I so enjoyed this steampunk world mixed with fantasy! There were so many new to me creatures along side recognizable machines. I'm actually kinda bummed that there aren't more books, the world was just that fascinating.

Summary: Ten years ago the Hellions came out of a tear in the sky, called the Breach, and now most of the survivors live underground in hiding. Claire, one of the few engineers, and her sister Abby live in a colony in sewer drains with about 200 others. Forced by the overlord, Garrett the electrician, to scavenge for parts and build whatever is needed, Claire is thankful for her skill for it protects her enough to take care of her sister. Everything changes when Abby is taken by the Hellions and Claire is taken in by pirates.
Thoughts: I was pulled in right from the start, it was so intense. I love Claire, her strength and determination along with her doubts and fears made her so real. With so many secrets and the emerging feeling between Claire and Sawyer the reader is kept on their toes the entire time. The only thing I had trouble with was actually picturing the Hellions, they are like a mix between a vampire and werewolf. The survive on blood, have clawed hands, and some other parts that just couldn’t paint a picture in my head. But the weirded twist was Sawyer’s secret which left me with so many questions that I anxiously await the next book, hoping that they are answered. Grab a copy of this if you can, it is so worth it!

Thoughts: This was interesting. There are two different groups of people that can travel through time and for some reason they are enemies. It's never really explained why they are rivals and I hope that is explained more as the series continues. Both sides seem to be trying to "fix" little things in history or prevent the other side from doing so, it's a little confusing because of the lack of information but I believe there's a reason for this, not sure what it is yet though. From what I can tell neither side is good or bad, but there does seem to be some agenda that at least one of the group leaders is trying to achieve. Other than lack of information, which I think is done on purpose (keeps the reader guessing), the story was very interesting with good, strong characters.
