Slow and steady is the perfect name for this book because just like the title implies the build up to the pinnacle is just that – slow and steady. Now granted, I didnt read the first book… Im the self titled Queen-of-reading-series-books-out-of-order but it didnt take me long to figure out what was going on. Greyson (sexy name) was a Navy Seal and he was the commander of a set of troops. They were on an exercise in book one in which his buddy Marcus was killed. Marcus left behind a wife, Finley (my daughter’s bff’s name) who was expecting a daughter who she named… Maple (Maple? really?).
Greyson, of course, has mental issues from his time in the service and he heads out to a strip club one night to drown his sorrows in booze and boobs. Up on the stage is none other than Finley, working the pole trying to support herself and little Maple. Greyson feels guilt… guilt for Marcus’ death and for Finley’s struggles. Finley feels anger toward Greyson and resentment that he is trying to help her. They both feel an undeniable attraction to each other. Will they or wont they give in??
I absolutely LOVE Kendall Ryan. I have read many of her books. They are all good, many of them are great. This one falls in the good category. I really liked the characters. I thought they were well developed, even for a relatively short story. The angsty part of the book worked itself out with relative ease so that was nice, no dragging it out for pages and pages. I loved the interaction between Greyson and Maple, that was adorable. The only real problem I had with the characters themselves was Finley. God, that woman was stubborn. But I cant say that being in her position I wouldnt have been also.
The editing and structure of the book itself was solid, even for an ARC, which I was given and the cover was gorgeous. All in all, I give Slow and Steady by Kendall Ryan a very solid 4**** WickedGoodStars and will recommend it to readers who are looking for a short, steamy read with possibly a military theme.

I had never even heard of the author and now I find myself seeking out her other works online. Yeah.. it was that good y’all. I’m really thinking what I enjoyed most about the story was the fact it was ... different. Still very sexy and steamy but there was a raw, gritty story woven into the background and it was honestly one of those books that I had a hard time putting down and that is major because I read A LOT. Jax was hard, manly and yet soft with Alessia at the same time. Alessia was in danger (which added so much to the story) and for a big portion of the book it wasn’t clear which way things were going to go. There wasn’t any of the usual predictability in this read and I think that contributed a lot to it’s attention grabbing aspects. Overall, a really fantastic read. I was impressed and Ms. Winters is on my radar now. I will be reading more of her books in the future.

3.75 Stars! The name Eve Dangerfield to me is synonymous with straight to the point, kindle melting, mind blowing sex. And honestly, between me and you3.75 Stars! The name Eve Dangerfield to me is synonymous with straight to the point, kindle melting, mind blowing sex. And honestly, between me and you.. that is why I read her books. That is one subject she writes frequently and very, very well. So Wild is the first installment of the Silver Daughters Ink series and I was privileged enough to be asked by the author herself to read and review it. It focuses on Samantha DaSilva and Scott Sanderson, neighbor kids who grew up tormenting and secretly (ok, really not so secretly) loving one another. They have both had traumatic issues in their childhoods centering around their mothers. This is a recurring theme throughout the book. Personally for me, I had a rough go getting the story flowing. It seemed as if the first.. I would say 35% at least was slow going. It was a lot of background information that seemed quite repetitive. However, it was definitely info that was needed for the story to be complete. It told the story of Sam and Scott - how they met, grew up, what each sister was like, where they were now, what had become of the kids fathers and mothers.. etc. A LOT of info to take in. After this, everything picked up and moved a bit smoother. Scott became a whole lot more interesting as did really all of the characters. The reading started flowing faster. The sex took on the qualities that I have come to love and expect from Eve Dangerfield. So hot! If I could give the book two separate ratings for the first section and the second I would. The first third or so was a 3 star read for me, I liked it. The second section, 4 stars. I really liked it. So total Im thinking 3.75 stars. I am so excited to read about Sam's twin sister Nicole (Nix). She caught my attention so hard in this story and I am dying to know more about her. Thank you so much Eve for the advanced copy of this book. :)...more
Ive been on pins and needles waiting for Austin's story to arrive from Gina L. Maxwell and the debate in my head has gone back and forth. Yes, I knew Ive been on pins and needles waiting for Austin's story to arrive from Gina L. Maxwell and the debate in my head has gone back and forth. Yes, I knew Austin's kink was KINK-EEE. I mean, this guy is one dirty bird. Would I be comfortable reading this? Hell yes. *smirk* I love to read taboo but I havent really run across much forced fantasy that I thought was written well. Its a difficult subject to discuss and probably even worse for an author to have to write about. I thought GLM did a truly OUTSTANDING job handling the issue and setting up the scenes to be both believable and meaningful to me as a reader. Austin the fireman/stripper wasnt really what I expected him to be. He had this wonderful soft side when it came to Emi that I fell so in love with during the course of the book. And Emi.. well, when I think of professional ballerina, I think of graceful, sweet and demure. Emi was all that but she was also tough as nails. I loved this about both of the characters - that there were multiple dimensions to their personalities. I really felt it added depth to the story to go along with all the HEAT that was burning up in the background! Each of the books in this series can be read independently but you will be missing out on so much if you dont read them all. A wonderful series by one of my auto one-click authors!...more
Fans of Austin and David have waited for the finale in this trilogy for what seems like... well, Forever (yes, pun intended). But author J.C. Grant dFans of Austin and David have waited for the finale in this trilogy for what seems like... well, Forever (yes, pun intended). But author J.C. Grant definitely poured heart and soul into the final installment and made it worth every day of the wait.
David's obsession with Austin has grown, by leaps and bounds it seems. He is so over the top. Austin loves him and loves the attention, most of the time. But he can be smothering. Very, very smothering. There is no way I could stand this much attention, I dont care who it was from - even The David.
The story started off a little slow, but the signature David and Austin heat was present, right from the first pages. I can see how this book might not be for everyone, with the extreme alpha male David and the ultra hot, super intense sex scenes. It all gets a little out of control at times. But for the die hard J.C. Grant fans and fans of this type of read - oh man, you will love this book and this entire series. (I definitely recommend they be read in order)
Thank you so much J.C. Grant for the wonderful wrap up to this trilogy!...more
Escape is the final book in the Getaway series and is where Lane's sweet story finally gets told. I thought I knew how he and Brynn were going to end Escape is the final book in the Getaway series and is where Lane's sweet story finally gets told. I thought I knew how he and Brynn were going to end up. I thought it was going to be fairly predictable, wrap up the trilogy, maybe hint at some awesome spin offs and end in a nice HEA. Well.. yeah, NO. I was pretty much wrong. While Escape was the love story I was expecting it to be between Lane and Brynn, it was the WAY in which it was told that caught me off guard. Lane and Brynn (for those of you who havent read the first two books) have been in each others lives, in one way or another, their entire lives. Friends, confidantes, roommates, work partners, you name it.. these two know each other inside and out. But as with most of our lives, things happen, feelings are hurt and people react. Decisions must be made. I truly love reading Jay Crownover stories because I always feel like what is going on to the characters within the story could actually be happening in any town anywhere. That sense of realism and wonder makes me get lost reading and keeps my attention. That being said, there were some places in Escape where there were some slow spots and some lulls in the reading. But it happens in a lot of books. I loved the fact that we got to catch up with the previous characters and have somewhat of a 'wrap up' to the series. I am hoping for a spin off of at least a book or two. These secondary characters are just too good to let fall by the wayside. Good read, will certainly recommend!...more

CB writes her very own brand of naughty. Then along comes Mend. In the prologue, she explains that Mend is different, not her usual brand of book and for various reasons she shelved it, putting off finishing it for a while. I can say in all honesty - WOW, am I glad she finished this book! Beautiful, heartbreaking and breath stealing. Mend is honestly the epitome of second-chance love. Evie and Jack tore me up. Starting with their childhoods and going forward into them being adults, the story swings a bit back and forth with glimpses of what "really happened" until the reader gets the full story and then it finally all comes round. With complex, fully developed characters Jack and Evie, secondaries Renee and Evan and a relatively smoothly flowing story, Mend is an all around 5 star read for me. I loved it! Will definitely recommend. ...more

I am addicted to the 1001 Dark Nights novellas already and Laurelin Paige is a master of spinning naughty tales. Combine the two and boom, baby. 5 star masterpiece!
Trish and Nate's story is actually book 5.5 in the Fixed series but can be read as a stand alone. (The rest of the books are also great, so read them as well, I recommend in order so nothing is spoiled.) Trish is Hudson Pierce's secretary by day and a dirty, dirty masked party girl on the weekends. She has got it all under control though. She's got rules she lives by and she's not breaking them for anyone or anything... until she meets the mysterious green eyed stranger who she can't get out of her head.
Fast forward to the work week and who shows up in her office? Mr. Green eyes. But he wont recognize her without the mask. Wrong. What? How? Ohhh... it gets so good and dirty from here, yall... so good and dirty. ;)
Do yourself a favor. Read Dirty Filthy Fix and the rest of the Fixed series from Laurelin Paige. They're good stuff. Really, really good stuff. *naughty winks*...more

To say I have waited patiently for Hunter O'Shea's story to come to life would be about like saying I **POSSIBLE SPOILERS**DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU**
To say I have waited patiently for Hunter O'Shea's story to come to life would be about like saying I wait patiently for Reese's to make those incredible peanut butter pumpkins every year. Its a lie. And im not a liar. I got just enough of ol' Hunter in Addicted to Sin #1 and #2 with poor Dix to be hooked and want moooore. *cheeky grins* Dixon left Hunter high and dry, ditched for Madison and now Dix and Madison are about to marry. Hunter is no longer the wing man, now he is the best man. Every best man needs a maid of honor and that duty belongs to Mary, Madison's bestie. Now, for those of you who don't know Hunter.. well, he's a rounder. And hes proud of it. Love em and leave em, carve the notch on the bed post. This disgusts Mary, at least outwardly. The premise of the story is nothing new. Two friends-of-friends who hate one another but are secretly crushing on each other. What is unique is the WAY that Monica James tells the story. The words she uses and the tone of it all. She never tries to redeem Hunter or make him into something hes not. She lets her characters, not only in this book, but in all of her works, exist for who they are. They are true to themselves. Hunter is a jerk. Hes cocky, spoiled and he sleeps around. But he knows Mary is the one for him and hes willing to change things around for her. Mary is strong and sassy and independent. She is also beautiful and a little insecure. Hunter and the thought of being with him scares her (as it should). This story contains so many great moments interwoven into the back and forth between these two characters. A little drama gets thrown in with a character named Kiera, who I just detested (but im sure that was the point) and the heat levels were scorching!! What an amazing follow up to the Dirty Dix duo. I am so pleased that I got to read and review The Hunt. I totally recommend this series of 5 star reads. You will be completely blown away by not only the stories but by the author herself. I have been anxiously awaiting Trent and Edie and this story had me holding my breath more times than I care to think about. Trent is everything I expected. Super quiet, ruthless, mean at times - to the point of cutting with his words. Edie is sassy, cunning and young. She is only 18 and like trying to catch a tiger by the tail. Together they are unbelievably combustible. The raw emotion written into this story was just phenomenal. I could feel the anger, the hatred, the lust and love rolling off the characters. Not just in their words, but in their actions. I had a little trouble with the relationship development between Trent and Edie, to be honest. It seemed, in my opinion, to be very.. hard core hate and then switch to love too fast. There was a bit of a disconnect for me in that situation. I did like the ending, although it was short. Im a big fan of this series. Scandalous was a good read, it wasnt my favorite of the series, but it was still good and it went right along with the rest of the books. ...more

First, I had never heard of the author but I really love discovering new-to-me authors so that part was exciting. Second, twin brother menage – YES PLEASE! Third, the brothers are horse trainers and showers. This is a subject I know absolutely zero about so I was going to actually learning something while enjoying a great deal of taboo sexy times, so that was a bonus.
The characters were well developed as was the story. The author appeared to know a lot about the equestrian world as she centered the book around that and used a lot of different terms and expressions.
A few things that I didnt like were the fact that all three of the characters seemed a lot younger than their stated ages. The twins were allegedly up into their 30s and were pretty immature. Sam was repeatedly referred to as a ‘brat’ but I didnt see her as being a brat at all, rather she was just a bit shy and stand off-ish, except maybe at the beginning.
All in all, I thought Their Virgin Brat was a good, solid read and Im very glad I picked it up. Certainly a recommend!...more

The end of the Clarkson series is the super highly anticipated love story between Belmont and Sage. For the past three b3.5 stars for Belmont and Sage
The end of the Clarkson series is the super highly anticipated love story between Belmont and Sage. For the past three books, we as readers have been given glimpses into the gentle, emotional giant that is Belmont. He was the outsider, the enigma.. the one I just couldnt get enough of. I wanted, no.. I needed his story. I had to get inside his head. Figure out what exactly made him so very different. The author had given us little hints up to this point, small snippets of things in his life leading to TBTB that clued me in to some of it, but I wasnt at all prepared for what I would find as the story progressed. Both of the main characters have suffered, and that suffering has brought them into a sort of co-dependent relationship with each other. I wont go into any real detail about it due to spoilers. I had a hard time rating this book because how I felt at the beginning, the middle and the end were all very different. I started off strong, probably 4 stars, at least. Then things for me went down pretty fast as Belmont's character went a little off the rails emotionally. Once I started realizing some of his past and got a good feel for what he had been through in his life.. yep, everything went up again. Then I had some issues with Sage. I was conflicted with her character as well. So the middle part was a roller coaster as far as ratings. Then the ending and the epilogue. It. Was. Glorious. 5 stars if there ever was. A perfect round up of the book and the series. LOVED IT.
If 3 stars is "I like it" and 4 stars is "I really like it" im going to have to go with 3.5 stars because im definitely right in the middle.
I would recommend reading this entire series, in order. Its a solid set of stories by one fabulous author!...more

Y'all.. Lani Lynn Vale has crossed into the world of sports romance. *angels sing in the background* This makes me so happy. So very happy. Pitch Please is the story of grumpy Hancock "Parts" and Sway. Parts is the MLB player and Sway is the voluptuous trainer for his team. She is also his biggest fan and has been for many years. Probably for me at least, the best thing about this story was the character development. I absolutely loved watching Parts and Sway start off meeting at the field and their relationship grow. LLV has a way of making me as a reader feel like im watching it all unfold in real time. The banter was witty, the jokes were clever and of course the sexy was super steamy! There were some serious times though, that brought in some drama and emotion - not enough to cause angst, but it definitely caught and kept my attention for the period. A great, GREAT beginning to this new series!! Parts has several brothers, including a twin - im hoping that each of the brothers get a story (at least Hannibal) and let's not forget Sway's brother. If not the brothers, then several of the teammates (it IS a sports series after all) because one book in... and im hooked! ...more
