Pretty good, its a folk horror.. says cosmic terror too but ehh idk I guess it just tips that towards the end. So I got it for that. It holds up to that claim. I enjoyed it you root for the town and the whole cast. Theres some good bonding and standing together. Wraps up nicely too. Sad pupper deaths tho (off screen and its not graphic) so don't worry im a big baby over it and didn't get upset. Biggest problem was I kept picturing the tatterskins as the final fantasy race of the rat like ppl called Burmecians but long leggy bois without eyes. So they were kinda cute in my head. I tried so hard to NOT see them that way.. but I just couldn't, the image stuck....more

I'm stuck idk if I wanna give it 4 stars for the fact I enjoyed most of it or 3 for lackluster end. Next time I read it I might just skip the tale end. I came from pinhead and got a lot of badassery of him but... yeah, theres a point where the story kinda dropped me. I won't spoil it for once. Another problem here like I said I came for pinhead and I don't know too much of clive barker's work. Just a few movies really. Hellraiser series mostly(and of that the first 2 really i just love to the point of having multiple copies of), lord of illusions and a shattering of others not worth mentioning. I liked lord of illusions I have it, theres a problem.. I didn't like the detective guy... and guess who's the main character here.. it took me a tiny bit to put 2 & 2 together but yup its that guy.. who i hated.. lol.. though here.. he's pretty alright. But ugh this is grudge I've had since childhood with this movie butthole... and I kept picturing movie Harry, Swan was a better I'm forever salty....more
