With witches, vampires, and a whole town of paranormal antics, it has enough supernatural shenanigans to satisfy any fan of cozy, autumnal reads. And with a dash of sapphic romance, a dash of ghostly ex-drama, and a cast of unique Maple Hollow residents, it’s a wild ride through one seriously quirky town!
The audiobook really shines, especially with what feels almost like a full cast of narrators bringing these characters to life. The multiple voices add a layer of fun and make the entire experience even more engaging. It’s a great choice for fans of audiobooks who want to feel immersed in this quirky world of Maple Hollow. I’m thrilled this is just the first book in a series—I’ll definitely be back for more!
Let’s talk about our main duo, though. Harlow is a lovable, chaotic mess who just wants to be seen and loved. When she moves to Maple Hollow to help out at her sister’s café, she’s thrown into a world of vampires, witches, and other magical beings—basically, every paranormal twist you could imagine. Her reaction? She just rolls with it, and maybe a bit too easily at times, but it’s all part of her charm!
Then there’s Jordyn, the standoffish but intriguing apothecary witch who’s been a little lost ever since her ex-girlfriend, Lou, died shortly after their breakup. In a moment of drunken regret, Jordyn decides to summon Lou’s spirit for “closure.” Big mistake—Lou’s ghost now refuses to leave and haunts Jordyn, all while delivering a constant stream of snarky commentary. And talk about hilarious! Lou, with her sassy one-liners and shameless troublemaking, is the ultimate snarky ghost ex, right down to her stereotypical “lesbian attire.” She had me laughing so many times throughout the story with her ghostly quips.
The book has top-notch cozy vibes—think autumn leaves, spicy lattes, and charming small-town magic. Throw in a sprinkle of murder mystery, some sweet (and spicy) romance, and a cast of quirky, paranormal characters, and you’ve got yourself the perfect seasonal read. Maple Hollow is so enchanting that I can’t wait for more from this adorable town in future books.
While there’s a lot to love, some parts felt a bit rushed, and a little more development in certain scenes could’ve made the story feel more grounded. But, hey, when you’ve got ghostly ex-drama, sizzling chemistry, and a cozy town that’s practically begging for more stories, it’s hard not to forgive a few minor hiccups.
If you’re looking for a cozy sapphic paranormal rom-com with a twist of supernatural drama, Pumpkin Spice & Poltergeist is a fantastic choice to add some autumn magic to your TBR. I can’t wait to see what other magical mischief Maple Hollow has in store!...more

Narrator Ella Lynch does a phenomenal job bringing this lush, gothic world to life in the audiobook, immersing you in foggy London streets, eerie midnight encounters, and the thrilling, slow-burn romance between two unforgettable characters.
I really enjoyed way the author and narrator expressed the character interactions. Every relationship, romantic or otherwise, felt intricate and meaningful. Each character feels robust, and there’s a genuine sense of care and loyalty, despite the dark twists and challenges they face. Poppy’s wit and humor shine in every chapter, offering a light counterbalance to the novel’s brooding undertones. I found myself laughing along with her, as well as rooting for her and Roisin through every danger and mystery that came their way.
Breger writes romance in a beautifully captivating way. The chemistry between Poppy and Roisin is intense, and the gradual build of their relationship is filled with tantalizing tension that makes the pages practically sizzle. Their connection feels authentic, and as their secrets are slowly revealed, the stakes get even higher. The gothic setting, combined with flashes of humor and heart, balances the novel's darker themes and moments of gore.
A Long Time Dead is a satisfying, darkly romantic journey with an ending that ties it all together beautifully. If you’re looking for something a bit different in sapphic literature—a blend of gothic romance, dark humor, and blood-soaked intrigue—this novel is a must-read....more

Bennett delivers a fast-paced sapphic romance set against the high-stakes world of competitive racing. The story of Sage and Jagger is packed with tension, action, and a slow-burn romance that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The racing theme is engaging, filled with suspense and adrenaline-pumping moments, but the real heart of the story is the undeniable chemistry between Sage and Jagger. Their dynamic—rooted in a messy past and unresolved attraction—is portrayed wonderfully and has you rooting for these two.
The plot moves at a fast pace, making it an easy and exciting read. The enemies-to-lovers tension between Sage and Jagger is palpable, and their journey from bitter rivals to something deeper is both angsty and hot. The push and pull between them is well written, keeping readers invested in their evolving relationship.
This slow-burn romance offers an entertaining mix of passion, competition, revelation, and forgiveness. L.M. Bennett does a great job balancing the racing plotline with the emotional depth of the characters, making Pit Stop a thoroughly engaging read. Fans of sapphic romance and enemies-to-lovers tropes will enjoy this one.

Always Emilie by Alyson Root is an emotional and steamy second-chance love story that brings two former lovers back together after twenty years apart.Always Emilie by Alyson Root is an emotional and steamy second-chance love story that brings two former lovers back together after twenty years apart. With plenty of drama, intrigue, and a healthy dose of heartwarming moments, this audiobook is a delightful listen, especially if you’re a fan of sapphic romances with an edge of mystery and intense chemistry.
Charlie Baxter seems to have it all—success, beauty, and a set of tattoos that drive women wild. However, when she’s called back to her old school to attend a charity ball, she’s forced to face the one person she’s never been able to forget: Emilie Martin, the girl who broke her heart two decades ago. Emilie, an international superstar, is also dealing with her own feelings of regret over losing Charlie, the "one that got away." The result is a slow-burning, tension-filled reunion that simmers with unresolved emotions and undeniable attraction.
I absolutely loved the second-chance romance storyline in Always Emilie. There’s something so satisfying about watching two characters with shared history grapple with their past while trying to figure out if they can make things work in the present. Charlie and Emilie’s dynamic is filled with drama, and the emotional depth of their relationship really shines through in their interactions. The drama and intrigue surrounding their past—and how it continues to impact their future—keeps you hooked from start to finish.
The romance itself is sizzling, with just the right amount of steam. Root delivers some seriously steamy sapphic scenes, including a str@p-on scene that adds to the intensity of Charlie and Emilie’s reconnection. And let’s not forget the wonderful friendships and found family that surround these two characters, which help ground the story and give it even more heart. Spud, Charlie’s lovable canine sidekick, is an adorable addition that adds some lighthearted moments to balance out the drama.
Lila Green’s narration is, as in the previous audiobooks, solid. She captures the emotions and tension between Charlie and Emilie with great nuance, bringing their story to life in a way that makes it easy to connect with the characters. Green has been the voice of this series, and she delivers yet another strong performance in the conclusion of this trilogy.
If you’re a fan of second-chance romances with a lot of heat, a little mystery, and some heartfelt moments, Always Emilie is definitely worth a listen. The chemistry between Charlie and Emilie is palpable, the drama keeps you on your toes, and the friendships add an extra layer of warmth to this already captivating story. Alyson Root has crafted a beautiful finale to this series, and I’m excited to see what she writes next!...more

But The Snowball Effect isn’t just any Haley Cass book—it’s pure, 24-karat GOLD. This book has everything I could hope for in a slow-burn, opposites-attract romance, and Cass executes it all with the kind of charm, depth, and humor that makes me want to give this book a permanent place in my heart and on my shelves!
Meet Regan, our golden retriever in human form—funny, quirky, endlessly endearing, and somehow always a little bit accident-prone. She’s the kind of person who would genuinely, earnestly tell you that she didn’t mean to startle you with a flash mob in your living room at 8 a.m.; it just seemed like a good idea at the time. Watching her stumble through the delicate task of convincing her grumpy roommate, Emma, that she’s not the world’s most annoying human is hilariously entertaining.
And then we have Emma, our fierce and guarded feline. She’s sarcastic, occasionally prickly, and oh-so-closed off. But, like every complex and guarded cat, she’s a softie deep down. I loved seeing her attraction to Regan bloom despite her best efforts to stay aloof. And the character development? Chef’s kiss. The side storyline with Emma’s mom is so well done, adding even more depth to Emma’s character and giving us a peek into her vulnerabilities.
The pacing is so perfect, you might actually forget to breathe. This slow burn is S-L-O-W. Like, watching-paint-dry slow—but in the most delicious way possible. Every shared glance, every “accidental” brush of skin, every agonizing almost-confession—it just builds and builds until you’re practically begging for them to stop denying it and kiss already! And when Emma and Regan finally do KISS? Stellar. The chemistry, the tension—totally worth the wait, even if it means by the time they’re together, you’re wrapping up the this incredible story with a mix of happy tears and a weird sense of longing. More, please! I'll take it!
And I can’t forget the delightful cast of supporting characters. It’s an absolute treat to see Sutton and Charlotte from Those Who Wait pop up, and the warmth of the extended community adds to the story’s magic. Also, can we all start a petition for Regan’s sister Audrey to get her own novella? Because I’d pre-order that yesterday.
One of my favorite aspects of this book is its refreshing take on body positivity. Emma isn’t a stereotypical waif-like character, and it’s so wonderful to see her portrayed as a beautiful, full-figured woman whose size isn’t a focal point of conflict. While she has a few natural insecurities (who doesn’t?), they’re not treated as an obstacle to overcome or a barrier to love. I absolutely love that Regan’s coming-out story and queer awakening happen with a character who is unapologetically herself and isn’t bogged down by body image issues. Their attraction to each other is so genuine and heartfelt, making their connection feel all the more authentic. Cass’s respectful, inclusive representation of beauty is both refreshing and empowering.
The Snowball Effect is everything I could want in a romance novel. It’s heartwarming, deeply emotional, and laugh-out-loud funny. Cass has outdone herself, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be left clutching your kindle to your chest, wishing it could have lasted just a few more chapters (even though she gave us an incredible 602 pages of pure sapphic spark (see what I did there?!))
ALSO - can we get more sapphic romances with no third act break ups bc this is DEEEEPLY satisfying on a cellular level!...more
Out on the Ice by Kelly Farmer is a slow-burn, emotionally rich romance that tackles important topics like mental health, identity, and the complexitiOut on the Ice by Kelly Farmer is a slow-burn, emotionally rich romance that tackles important topics like mental health, identity, and the complexities of love. Narrated by Chelsea Stephens, the audiobook adds an extra layer of depth to this already engaging story, making it an enjoyable listen for fans of sapphic romance and sports fiction.
Caro Cassidy, a former women’s hockey legend, is now dedicated to running an all-girls hockey camp and keeping her personal life private. In contrast, Amy Schwarzbach is all bright energy and charm, using her high-profile position in women’s hockey to advocate for causes she believes in. When Amy joins Caro’s camp for the summer, their initial chemistry turns into something much deeper, but both women have reasons to be cautious about letting love in.
I really appreciated the strong representation in this book. Having a half-Jewish, bi main character was fantastic, and the bi-representation felt authentic without being heavy-handed. The way the book handled discussions around mental health—covering anxiety, depression, and personal insecurities—added a realness that made the characters feel relatable and three-dimensional. Neither Caro nor Amy is perfect, and I liked that they both had flaws that made them more human and easier to connect with.
The slow-burn romance was filled with so much tension that I found myself wishing for a bit more on-page romance. The fade-to-black scenes, while well-written, left me wanting a little more in terms of intimacy, especially given how much build-up there was. That’s just a personal preference, but it’s a testament to how well Farmer created that chemistry between the two leads.
The pacing of the story is definitely on the slower side, so if you're someone who enjoys taking your time to get to know the characters, you’ll find a lot to love here. The hockey setting and the strong focus on the sport added an extra layer of excitement, especially if you're a fan of sports romances.
Chelsea Stephens did a good job with the narration, capturing the distinct voices of Caro and Amy and bringing the characters to life in a way that added even more depth to the story. I also loved the audiobook cover—it’s so cute and perfectly captures the spirit of the story!
This is a heartfelt and well-developed romance with characters you’ll root for, and I enjoyed seeing the emotional growth of both Caro and Amy throughout the book. Kelly Farmer has shown great promise with this one, and I’m excited to see what she has in store next!...more
Bloom Town: Exodus by Ally North is the stunning sequel to Bloom Town: Genesis, and it delivers an even deeper, more emotional ride that left me breatBloom Town: Exodus by Ally North is the stunning sequel to Bloom Town: Genesis, and it delivers an even deeper, more emotional ride that left me breathless. Picking up right where the first book left off, BT Exodus wastes no time plunging us back into the Wild West, as Abby Proctor races against time to save Joey “JT London,” the outlaw who has captured her heart.
Transparently, I got these books because the covers were too gorgeous to pass up, and after reading the synopsis, it was one of the fastest one-clicks of my life. Little did I know how much I would fall in love with this series. Ally North has truly cemented herself as a must-read author for me, and BT Exodus solidifies her mastery of storytelling, character development, and romance.
One of the many things I loved about this book is how it brings the West to life. North’s world-building is impeccable, making you feel the vastness of the desert, the grit of the chase, and the danger lurking around every corner. But as with BT Genesis, this novel is so much more than just a romance. It’s about found family, resilience, and the power of choice. North continues to show how the family you choose can bring more love and peace than the one you’re born into, and that theme is woven beautifully into every character’s journey.
The character development in BT Exodus might even richer than in the first book. Is that possible?! Abby truly shines in this one—her strength, grit, and determination leap off the page as she steps fully into her power. Abby’s evolution from a preacher’s daughter running from oppression to a fiercely independent woman building the life and family she chooses is nothing short of inspiring. Her ability to handle the aftereffects of trauma and still pursue love and freedom is a testament to the resilience of womanhood, and I admired her so much throughout the book.
And then there’s Joey—my strong, broody, sexy, wounded outlaw. Her growth in BT Exodus was stunning to watch. Joey is still that complex, magnetic character who had me swooning in BT Genesis, but seeing her vulnerability and healing journey in this sequel made me fall for her even harder. Have I mentioned I have the BIGGEST crush on her? Because I do! Her character arc is beautifully written, and the push and pull between her and Abby had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Of course, this book wouldn’t be complete without its sizzling romance. The slow burn in BT Exodus is INTENSE. The chemistry between Abby and Joey is undeniable, and the way North builds it up is nothing short of masterful. The spice and steam are off the charts—from slow burn re-connection to dirty talk and praise kink (in a historical novel—YES PLEASE), this book delivers on every level. The passion between these two characters is scorching, but it’s the emotional depth of their connection that truly sets the romance apart.
BT Exodus also dives deep into the aftermath of trauma, and North handles these themes with incredible care. The way Abby, Jack, Olive, and Lewis grapple with their pasts while trying to carve out a future together makes this an emotional roller coaster of a read. And let me tell you—the ending? Oh. My. Gosh. Ally North broke me into pieces and then lovingly pieced me back together with this conclusion.
"My pieces aren't gone, they're scattered. Find them for me? Put them back together" - OH MY HEART!!!!!!!
It’s a satisfying, beautiful HEA, but getting there is a journey that will leave you breathless.
I can’t recommend this series enough. Ally North has a new die-hard fan in me. Bloom Town is one of my top 5 reads this year, and I’ll be talking about this series forever. I’m not even ashamed to admit that I devoured both books in a matter of DAYS. I immediately started book two the second I closed book one.
If you’re a fan of sapphic western romance, clear your weekend and get both Bloom Town: Genesis and Exodus. Trust me—you’re going to want to dive right in and experience this unforgettable love story. I need more work from Ally North like yesterday!!...more

It follows two talented artists, Noah Blue and Sage Montgomery, whose longstanding rivalry comes to a head when they’re forced to collaborate on a high-profile relaunch of the cult classic comic, Queen Leisah. Their journey from professional adversaries to romantic partners is full of tension, banter, and emotional growth, making this an engaging read for fans of workplace romance with a sapphic twist.
The premise immediately drew me in. Noah, fresh off her big break, is thrilled to be leading the Queen Leisah project—until she finds out that Sage, the one artist who’s been her biggest rival since college, is sharing credit with her. Sage has always been the best, but her career has stagnated, and she’s banking on this project to get back on top. Their workplace tension is palpable, but it’s not just limited to their professional lives—both are also competing on the side in an indie comic competition. The stakes are high, and the clashing egos are real.
What I really loved about this book was the character development. Both Sage and Noah are fully realized characters with their own insecurities, ambitions, and emotional baggage. Watching them slowly learn to trust each other, lean on each other, and open up was a joy. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the banter and tension between them were perfectly executed. Despite being rivals, their connection felt natural, and it was so satisfying to see them slowly let their guards down.
The slow-burn romance was filled with some great tropes—rivals-to-lovers, workplace drama, and even a bit of found family. There’s also some steamy and sweet romance that balances well with the emotional depth of their relationship. I found myself invested not just in their romance, but also in their individual journeys as artists and people. Both characters were relatable, and I appreciated how the story explored their personal growth alongside their romantic relationship.
While I started the audiobook, I had trouble connecting with the narrators, which took away from my initial experience. However, once I switched to the paperback, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves a well-written, emotional, and fun workplace romance, though maybe the audiobook won’t be for everyone.
This is a delightful, character-driven romance that will appeal to fans of slow-burn, rivals-to-lovers stories. Deanna Grey has crafted a wonderful romance that feels both sweet and meaningful, and I’m excited to read more from her!...more

This is the second installment in "The French Connection" series, and it’s a delightful continuation that delivers on all fronts—whether you’re here for the romance, the setting, or the irresistible characters.
Kim Richmond is a sassy, vintage-loving bombshell in desperate need of a break from her life’s disappointments, while Helene DuBois is just as desperate to avoid any more romantic entanglements after yet another heartbreak. When these two women’s paths cross at the luxurious Sapphire Hotel and Spa, their lives take an unexpected turn. What starts as a generous offer from Helene to share her suite quickly evolves into something more as the two navigate their growing attraction in the midst of their own personal turmoil.
One of the highlights of this novel is Root’s writing. Her ability to bring Saint Tropez to life is nothing short of magical. From the luxury of a five-star hotel to the thrill of sailing on a mega yacht and the serenity of scuba diving, the setting is every vacation dream come true. Root captures the essence of these experiences, making it easy for readers to feel like they are right there with Kim and Helene.
The characters themselves are wonderfully crafted. Kim and Helene’s friends-to-lovers journey is both sweet and steamy, with plenty of moments that will have you rooting for their happily ever after. The exploration of a first-time relationship with a woman, especially within a femme/femme dynamic, is handled with care and authenticity. The presence of Sam and Anna from the first book, with their ongoing HEA, adds a lovely continuity to the series, making it a treat for returning readers.
Root doesn’t shy away from deeper themes, either. The novel touches on the impact of addiction through a side character, adding an emotional layer that enriches the story without overshadowing the romance. It’s a thoughtful inclusion that shows how addiction affects not just the individual but also their loved ones.
The steamy scenes in "Diving Into Her" are exactly that—steeeeeeamy. Root knows how to build tension and deliver on the heat, making this a must-read for fans of sizzling romance.
On the audio front, Lilla Green continues to do a great job with her narration. The little extras, like sound effects during texting or changes in sound when characters are on the phone, add a unique touch that enhances the listening experience. Green’s ability to give distinct voices to each character also adds depth to the story, making it even more engaging.
"Diving Into Her" is a wonderful addition to "The French Connection" series, offering a wonderful blend of romance, personal growth, and escapist fantasy. Whether you’re a fan of friends-to-lovers stories, steamy sapphic romances, or just in need of a mental vacation, this book is sure to satisfy. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next installment and more from Alyson Root.

As someone who enjoys unique narrative approaches, I found Root’s storytelling to be both intriguing and well-executed. The book follows Sam Chambers, whose life is in a downward spiral, and Anna Holland, who seems to have everything she’s ever wanted—except for the one thing that truly matters. Their chance meeting in Paris sets the stage for a journey of self-discovery, love, and the complexities of life’s unexpected twists.
One of the highlights of this book is the strong character development. Root does an excellent job of delving into Sam and Anna’s personal struggles, making their eventual connection feel both inevitable and deeply satisfying. The story doesn’t shy away from the steamy moments, but it also tackles the emotional depth of a coming-out story with grace and authenticity. The way Root balances these elements makes for a compelling read that resonates on multiple levels.
I’m especially excited to see where Root takes these characters in the upcoming books. The storyline’s originality and the nuanced portrayal of a second-chance romance have me eagerly anticipating what’s next. I was so taken by the story that I immediately ordered a paperback copy—not just because I loved the cover, but also because this is a story I want to revisit again and again.
Lillia Green, the narrator of this audiobook, was a new voice for me, and I must admit, it took a little time to get accustomed to her performance. However, once I settled into her style, I found her narration to be enjoyable overall. Green brought a distinctiveness to each character, making it easy to follow the story and stay immersed in the world Root created. I particularly appreciated the little extras added to the audio experience—like sound effects when characters were texting and subtle changes in sound when they were speaking on the phone. These touches added a layer of immersion that enhanced the overall experience.
"A Dance Towards Forever" is a beautifully written and uniquely structured romance that stands out in its genre. The audiobook, with its thoughtful narration by Lillia Green, is a solid choice for anyone looking to dive into a love story that’s as thought-provoking as it is heartwarming. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next books in this series!

From the very first page, I continHelena Greer's "Hers for the Weekend" is an absolute gem that shines brightly in the world of contemporary romance. From the very first page, I continued to be captivated by the vibrant world Greer has built at Carrigan's Christmasland, brimming with quirky characters and an abundance of queer love. This isn't just a story about romance; it's a beautifully layered narrative that explores themes of found family, healing, self-forgiveness, and the courage to open oneself up to the unexpected wonders of the universe.
The dynamic between Tara Sloane Chadwick and Holly Siobhan Delaney is nothing short of electric. I loved how Greer portrayed their stark differences, yet masterfully showed how they saw the best and the flaws in each other. Tara, the impeccably mannered Southern belle with a seemingly perfect life, and Holly, the wild child with a heart of gold, are polar opposites who bring out the most vulnerable and real parts of one another. Their journey from a no-strings-attached weekend fling to a love that challenges their deepest fears and desires is both heartwarming and utterly compelling.
One of the most special aspects of this novel is how it connects to Greer’s previous works. As a fan of series / interconnected romance novels, I was thrilled to get a glimpse into the lives of characters I’ve grown to love from "Seasons of Love" and "For Never and Always". The continuation of Miriam and Noelle’s love story culminating in their wedding, and seeing Levi and Hannah starting a family, was a joyous experience. It’s rare for readers to get such insightful updates on characters after their "happily ever afters," and Greer delivers this beautifully.
And then there’s Cole. What a joyful character he is! While I adored his role in "Hers for the Weekend", I couldn’t help but wish he had a book of his own. His infectious positivity and warmth are like a breath of fresh air, and seeing him find his own slice of happiness in this story was a delightful treat.
In "Hers for the Weekend", Helena Greer has crafted a story that’s more than just a romance—it's a celebration of love in all its forms, the power of vulnerability, and the beauty of embracing life’s unexpected turns. Whether you’re new to Greer’s world or a long-time fan, this book is an absolute must-read that will leave you with a heart full of joy and a smile that lingers long after the final page....more

Set agIn Dreams by Lise Gold, narrated by Tessa Stavers, is a compelling blend of heartfelt emotion, steamy romance, and a journey of self-discovery. Set against the backdrop of the UK, this story captivated me from the start with its unique premise and diverse characters.
Rebecca Pandey, a charismatic morning television host with a hidden struggle, seeks help from Emma Parker, a dream therapist who turns out to be her secret celebrity crush. The dynamic between Rebecca and Emma is electric, and as their sessions progress, the chemistry between them becomes undeniable. The story beautifully explores Rebecca’s sexual awakening and coming out journey, adding depth to her character as she confronts her traditional background and the expectations placed upon her.
I especially appreciated how Lise Gold addressed the complexities of coming out and embracing one's identity on the queerness spectrum, especially for an Indian woman navigating the nuances of family and cultural expectations. The celebrity romance element added a modern twist, highlighting the challenges and vulnerabilities of being in the public eye in the age of social media.
This was the first time I've listened to a book narrated by Tessa Stavers, and I was impressed by her ability to bring the characters to life with nuance and emotion. Her narration added an extra layer of depth to the story, making the connection between Rebecca and Emma feel even more genuine.
The chemistry between these women was palpable, and the romance was the perfect blend of heartfelt connection and sapphic steam. The author skillfully balanced the emotional weight of the story with moments of lightness and passion, creating an enjoyable and engaging read.
In Dreams is the first book I've read by Lise Gold, and it certainly won't be the last. It’s a story that celebrates love, identity, and the courage to embrace who you truly are, all while delivering a delightful and steamy romance. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a diverse and emotionally resonant sapphic love story....more

This audiobook was an absolute joy from start to finish, blending humor, steam, and heart in a way that left me smiling long after it ended.
From the moment I heard the syllabus and the recommended reading, I knew I was in for a treat. The clever inclusion of these elements set the tone for the book and added a delightful layer of authenticity to the story. I even went ahead and bought the e-books that were on that list—I couldn't resist!
Lori Prince did an incredible job bringing this story to life. Her narration perfectly captured the insecurities of Annalise as she navigated her journey of self-discovery, and it was a joy to hear her grow into her confidence and embrace her sexual identity. Prince's performance added depth and warmth to Annalise's character, making her journey feel even more personal and real.
Brinley’s character was another highlight for me. The author did a fantastic job portraying her confidence and swagger—I have to admit, I have a huge crush on her! She gave me strong 76th Street Girl vibes, and I couldn’t get enough of her charm and charisma.
The secondary characters and family dynamics were wonderfully done as well. Grandma was an absolute riot, providing many laugh-out-loud moments that added to the overall warmth and humor of the story.
One of the best things about this book is how it subverts typical romance tropes. There’s no third-act breakup, just a genuine, feel-good love story that celebrates the joy of finding yourself and finding love. It’s refreshing and makes the story all the more enjoyable.
*This will definitely be a go-to reread and relisten for me*. It's such a feel-good story, with the perfect balance of steam, humor, and heartfelt moments. Thank you to Erica Lee for crafting such a wonderful love story, and to Lori Prince for bringing it to life so brilliantly. This audiobook is a true gem!...more

Bloom Town: Genesis by Ally North is nothing short of a masterpiece, and I can’t believe this is the author’s debut novel. I originally picked up the book because I was absolutely captivated by the cover, but after reading the synopsis, it became one of the fastest one-clicks of my life. And trust me, this book did not disappoint.
From the very first chapter, I was completely sucked in. North’s writing is eloquent, magical, and lyrical, bringing the Wild West to life with such vividness that I could feel the heat of the desert and the dust on my skin. This is so much more than just a romance novel—it’s an emotional journey filled with themes of family, freedom, and personal growth. North shows that the family you choose can bring more love and peace than the one you’re born into, and this found family is one of the most heartwarming aspects of the story.
The characters in Bloom Town: Genesis are beautifully flawed, perfectly imperfect, and impossible not to love. From Olive and Jack to my sweet, sweet Lewis, every character adds depth and warmth to the narrative. But let’s talk about Joey “JT London” Taylor, the complex outlaw who had me absolutely swooning. I have the BIGGEST crush on Joey—she’s brash, brooding, and utterly captivating. And then there’s Abby Proctor, who is just as wonderful. Watching Abby grow and step into her power throughout the book is one of the most satisfying character arcs I’ve read in a long time. Her evolution from a preacher’s daughter running from oppression to a woman embracing her desires and independence is incredible.
One of the things I loved most about this book is how North tackles deeper issues like prejudice and religious trauma. These themes are handled with tact and class, but readers should be aware they might find them triggering. Still, it’s clear North approached these topics with care, making the story even more impactful.
Now, let’s get to the steam. OMG—the spice in this book is *on fire*. From slow-burn sexual awakening to exploring sexuality, toys (no seriously), and even some very well-done dirty talk and praise kink (in a historical novel, no less—YES PLEASE), this book delivers on every level. The intimate scenes are not just hot, but meaningful, adding layers to Joey and Abby’s relationship. The sexual tension and emotional depth between them make for an unforgettable romance.
And I have to tell you that Bloom Town: Genesis is an emotional rollercoaster. I didn’t want it to end. But alas, it does… on a cliffhanger! So do yourself a favor and get book two when you pick up the first one because you’re going to want to dive right in after finishing this one. I cleared my entire weekend for this series, and it was totally worth it.
I also need to say how much I hope this book gets an audiobook. I would *love* to listen to these characters come to life again.
Bloom Town: Genesis is a diamond of a book—easily one of my top 5 reads this year. Ally North has officially made me a fan of the sapphic western romance trope, and I’m low-key sad I devoured this book so fast because I’m not ready to let it go. Trust me—clear your schedule and dive into this book (and the sequel!). You won’t regret it....more

House of Crimson Kisses picks up rightDue to the emotional hangover induced by this book, I'm barely okay enough to write this review but here we go.
House of Crimson Kisses picks up right where House of Crimson Hearts left off, and let me tell you, I'm an emotional wreck. This book is a seriously intense read that left me reeling in the best possible way. Ruby Roe has outdone herself with this continuation of Red and Octavia's story.
The trials for the heir of the city have begun, and the stakes have never been higher. Red, our snarky dhampir heroine, is grappling with her growing hunger for blood and the startling truths about her identity. Meanwhile, Octavia Beaumont, one of the original three vampires, is fiercely determined to win the trials and claim control of the city. The tension between them is palpable, and their journey is fraught with danger, betrayal, and unexpected alliances.
Volcanic steam warning—this book is packed with so much sapphic steam, it practically melted my kindle. Roe knows how to write chemistry, and the dynamic between Red and Octavia is electrifying. The explicit BDSM and blood play scenes are intense and incredibly well-written, adding a unique layer to their already complex relationship.
The plot twists are relentless. Just when you think you have a handle on the story, Roe throws another curveball that leaves you gasping. If you think you know what's coming, trust me, you don't. Only Ruby Roe knows, and she's keeping this information on lockdown, clearly enjoying the delicious torture of her readers.
The complexity of the relationships in this book is superbly written. From familial bonds to romantic entanglements and deep friendships, Roe brings these characters to life in all their flawed beauty. The trials themselves are unique and inventive—Roe truly knocked it out of the park with these creative challenges.
And that ending. This book ends on one helluva cliffhanger, and I'm still not okay. I'm still thinking about these characters as I sulk in my emotional hangover. Roe has a knack for leaving readers desperate for more, and this installment is no exception.
Ruby Roe has stated that this series will be available in audio, and you can bet that'll be a one-click for me so hard! If the audiobook is anything like the written version, it's going to be an unforgettable experience. This dark and steamy lesbian vampire romance is not for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, look no further. Ruby Roe has delivered another masterpiece....more

From the first page, I was hooked by James's superb writing style, which effortlessly keeps you engaged throughout the entire story. This sports romance is the perfect blend of steamy and sweet, featuring a fantastic opposites-attract trope with two incredibly different yet compelling main characters.
Khadijah Upton, an organized and focused athletic trainer, finds herself face-to-face with basketball star Shae Harris after a wildly sexy one-night stand. Shae is sweet, sexy, and patient, making it impossible for Khadijah to resist her charms. Their chemistry sizzles both on and off the court, and their dynamic kept me rooting for them from the very beginning.
James's attention to detail, from the songs in the club to the skating rink scene, adds a special touch that makes the book even more endearing. Dijah and Shae's journey is captivating, filled with heartfelt moments and intense passion. The side characters, from Khadijah's supportive family to Shae's loving relatives and the tight-knit team, added depth and relatability to the story, enriching the overall reading experience of this wonderful story.
I was thrilled to discover that this is the start of a series because I absolutely loved Tina and Courtney and can't wait to see their stories unfold. Consider me a loyal fan of the Atlanta Cannons and Meka James! *Love and Sportsball* is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted, steamy sports romance.

The story follows Clara Eden, an academic whose career has centered around the ancient city of Nektopolis and the enigmatic figure of Nektaria. When Clara is offered a job as an archivist by the eccentric estate owner Agatha Montague, she jumps at the chance, only to find herself immersed in a world of Greek mythology, vampires, and sapphic romance.
The narration in the audiobook is excellent, bringing the letters that span hundreds of years to life with vivid and engaging delivery. Listening to these letters added a rich, historical layer to the story, enhancing the overall experience.
One of the standout aspects of this book is its seamless blend of genres. The transition from Greek mythology to vampire lore is handled masterfully, creating a unique and enchanting narrative. The single POV of Clara keeps the story focused and allows readers to deeply connect with her journey and discoveries.
Clara's job opportunity offers her access to invaluable knowledge about Nektopolis, but it comes with the catch of not being able to publish her findings. This twist adds intrigue and tension, especially as Clara's feelings for Fiadh, her employer's assistant, deepen. The growing suspicion about Agatha Montague adds a layer of suspense that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
Anna Burke's writing is captivating and immersive, drawing readers into a world filled with diverse and well-developed characters. The plot is engaging, and I was thoroughly invested in Clara's adventure. My one suggestion is to take the time to read the footnotes throughout the story—they add valuable context and enhance the reading experience.
In the Roses of Pieria is a highly recommended read for anyone who loves fantasy, mythology, and romance. I can't wait for the sequel!...more

This third installment in "The Grace Notes" trilogy delivers a compelling story filled with rich character development, intense chemistry, and heartfelt moments that make it impossible to put down. Ruby Landers' captivating writing style draws you in from the very first page and holds you tight until the last.
Rosalie Carlson, a dedicated social worker who seems to have it all together professionally, is anything but in her personal life. Her close, complicated friendship with megastar Savannah Grace keeps her constantly on her toes. Meanwhile, Kinsey, a young musician trying to find her place in Nashville’s vibrant music scene, is eager to make her mark. When these two women meet, the sparks fly instantly, and their scorching chemistry leaps right off the page.
Landers excels in creating wonderfully diverse characters that are impossible not to love. Kinsey’s confidence in her talent and her deep self-awareness make her a captivating character, drawing readers in with her authenticity and passion. Her journey is one of courage and determination, and it’s impossible not to root for her as she navigates the complexities of love and chasing her dreams. Rosalie, on the other hand, is a great representation of how many women—especially caretakers, advocates, and those in service roles—often prioritize everyone else over themselves. Her reluctance to follow her own advice about self-care and therapy is relatable and adds depth to her character, making her growth throughout the book even more satisfying.
Rosalie's deep love for her sister Rachel adds another layer of emotional depth to the story. Rachel's story arc is incredibly impactful, and the way it unfolds throughout the novel is both heart-wrenching and beautifully crafted. Oh, Rachel... my heart just aches for her. Rachel's presence and impact in Rosalie and Savannah's life and the challenges they face after her loss add a poignant layer to the narrative, highlighting the importance of family and the deep bonds that shape us.
One of the standout elements of "Saving Graces" is the found family Landers has so beautifully crafted. The dual timeline structure, which allows us to see Savannah and Rosalie's friendship grow from the very beginning, is brilliantly executed. It gives new perspective to the previous books and really allows you to see the connection between these friends and how their friendship has ebbed and flowed throughout the years together. The line, "I'll always love you more," resonates deeply, showcasing the strength and enduring nature of their bond. This book is a wonderful example of how friendships build our community and are vital to our lives, offering both support and love in times of need.
Landers does a fantastic job capturing the push and pull between Kinsey and Rosalie, the tension of their initial resistance, and the unfolding of their undeniable attraction. The inner monologue of both characters is so well executed that it allows the reader to deeply understand their fears, desires, and the walls they've built around their hearts. It’s this emotional depth that makes their romance not just believable but genuinely touching.
The continuation of Savannah and Brynn’s HEA and Cassie and Lane’s story adds depth and richness to the narrative, highlighting the strong bonds of friendship, family and love that permeate Landers’ books. The sheer amount of queer love and representation in this series is so beautifyl, and it’s one of the many reasons why I can't get enough of Lander's writing.
The emotional depth of this book goes beyond a typical romance. This is a story of forgiveness, personal growth, and the courage to open up to new possibilities, even when the past has been painful. Rosalie’s resistance to love and her eventual realization that she deserves happiness is a beautifully crafted arc that adds layers to her character and makes her journey all the more rewarding.
And let’s not forget the STUNNING covers of this series that perfectly represent the beautiful stories held inside. They are a visual delight and a stellar representation of the heartfelt love in all it's forms that lies within.
The way Landers ends this book left me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what comes next. I really hope that we're not done with the Graces. I NEED MORE !! Pllllllleeeease can we have more?!
"Saving Graces" is a must-read for anyone who loves a beautiful, diverse, and emotionally rich romance. Ruby Landers has truly outdone herself with this one, delivering a book that is as much about finding oneself as it is about finding love. I devoured it in a day and already can't wait to see what Landers has in store next!
Thank you to Ruby Landers for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. ...more

One of the things I loved most about this book is its steamy and passionate scenes. The chemistry between Nadezhda and the kikimora (Mora) is palpable, and their relationship is both intense and captivating. The steamy scenes are well-written and add an extra layer of depth to the story.
The storyline itself is so original. The idea of a supernatural murder cult and a creature from Ukrainian folklore living in a swamp is both intriguing and imaginative. The author has created a world that feels both fantastical and believable.
