Narrator Ella Lynch does a phenomenal job bringing this lush, gothic world to life in the audiobook, immersing you in foggy London streets, eerie midnight encounters, and the thrilling, slow-burn romance between two unforgettable characters.
I really enjoyed way the author and narrator expressed the character interactions. Every relationship, romantic or otherwise, felt intricate and meaningful. Each character feels robust, and there’s a genuine sense of care and loyalty, despite the dark twists and challenges they face. Poppy’s wit and humor shine in every chapter, offering a light counterbalance to the novel’s brooding undertones. I found myself laughing along with her, as well as rooting for her and Roisin through every danger and mystery that came their way.
Breger writes romance in a beautifully captivating way. The chemistry between Poppy and Roisin is intense, and the gradual build of their relationship is filled with tantalizing tension that makes the pages practically sizzle. Their connection feels authentic, and as their secrets are slowly revealed, the stakes get even higher. The gothic setting, combined with flashes of humor and heart, balances the novel's darker themes and moments of gore.
A Long Time Dead is a satisfying, darkly romantic journey with an ending that ties it all together beautifully. If you’re looking for something a bit different in sapphic literature—a blend of gothic romance, dark humor, and blood-soaked intrigue—this novel is a must-read....more

But The Snowball Effect isn’t just any Haley Cass book—it’s pure, 24-karat GOLD. This book has everything I could hope for in a slow-burn, opposites-attract romance, and Cass executes it all with the kind of charm, depth, and humor that makes me want to give this book a permanent place in my heart and on my shelves!
Meet Regan, our golden retriever in human form—funny, quirky, endlessly endearing, and somehow always a little bit accident-prone. She’s the kind of person who would genuinely, earnestly tell you that she didn’t mean to startle you with a flash mob in your living room at 8 a.m.; it just seemed like a good idea at the time. Watching her stumble through the delicate task of convincing her grumpy roommate, Emma, that she’s not the world’s most annoying human is hilariously entertaining.
And then we have Emma, our fierce and guarded feline. She’s sarcastic, occasionally prickly, and oh-so-closed off. But, like every complex and guarded cat, she’s a softie deep down. I loved seeing her attraction to Regan bloom despite her best efforts to stay aloof. And the character development? Chef’s kiss. The side storyline with Emma’s mom is so well done, adding even more depth to Emma’s character and giving us a peek into her vulnerabilities.
The pacing is so perfect, you might actually forget to breathe. This slow burn is S-L-O-W. Like, watching-paint-dry slow—but in the most delicious way possible. Every shared glance, every “accidental” brush of skin, every agonizing almost-confession—it just builds and builds until you’re practically begging for them to stop denying it and kiss already! And when Emma and Regan finally do KISS? Stellar. The chemistry, the tension—totally worth the wait, even if it means by the time they’re together, you’re wrapping up the this incredible story with a mix of happy tears and a weird sense of longing. More, please! I'll take it!
And I can’t forget the delightful cast of supporting characters. It’s an absolute treat to see Sutton and Charlotte from Those Who Wait pop up, and the warmth of the extended community adds to the story’s magic. Also, can we all start a petition for Regan’s sister Audrey to get her own novella? Because I’d pre-order that yesterday.
One of my favorite aspects of this book is its refreshing take on body positivity. Emma isn’t a stereotypical waif-like character, and it’s so wonderful to see her portrayed as a beautiful, full-figured woman whose size isn’t a focal point of conflict. While she has a few natural insecurities (who doesn’t?), they’re not treated as an obstacle to overcome or a barrier to love. I absolutely love that Regan’s coming-out story and queer awakening happen with a character who is unapologetically herself and isn’t bogged down by body image issues. Their attraction to each other is so genuine and heartfelt, making their connection feel all the more authentic. Cass’s respectful, inclusive representation of beauty is both refreshing and empowering.
The Snowball Effect is everything I could want in a romance novel. It’s heartwarming, deeply emotional, and laugh-out-loud funny. Cass has outdone herself, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be left clutching your kindle to your chest, wishing it could have lasted just a few more chapters (even though she gave us an incredible 602 pages of pure sapphic spark (see what I did there?!))
ALSO - can we get more sapphic romances with no third act break ups bc this is DEEEEPLY satisfying on a cellular level!...more
"Diving Into Her" by Alyson Root is a stellar getaway novel, offering readers a chance to escape to the sun-soaked beaches of Saint Tropez while divin"Diving Into Her" by Alyson Root is a stellar getaway novel, offering readers a chance to escape to the sun-soaked beaches of Saint Tropez while diving into a steamy and heartfelt romance. This is the second installment in "The French Connection" series, and it’s a delightful continuation that delivers on all fronts—whether you’re here for the romance, the setting, or the irresistible characters.
Kim Richmond is a sassy, vintage-loving bombshell in desperate need of a break from her life’s disappointments, while Helene DuBois is just as desperate to avoid any more romantic entanglements after yet another heartbreak. When these two women’s paths cross at the luxurious Sapphire Hotel and Spa, their lives take an unexpected turn. What starts as a generous offer from Helene to share her suite quickly evolves into something more as the two navigate their growing attraction in the midst of their own personal turmoil.
One of the highlights of this novel is Root’s writing. Her ability to bring Saint Tropez to life is nothing short of magical. From the luxury of a five-star hotel to the thrill of sailing on a mega yacht and the serenity of scuba diving, the setting is every vacation dream come true. Root captures the essence of these experiences, making it easy for readers to feel like they are right there with Kim and Helene.
The characters themselves are wonderfully crafted. Kim and Helene’s friends-to-lovers journey is both sweet and steamy, with plenty of moments that will have you rooting for their happily ever after. The exploration of a first-time relationship with a woman, especially within a femme/femme dynamic, is handled with care and authenticity. The presence of Sam and Anna from the first book, with their ongoing HEA, adds a lovely continuity to the series, making it a treat for returning readers.
Root doesn’t shy away from deeper themes, either. The novel touches on the impact of addiction through a side character, adding an emotional layer that enriches the story without overshadowing the romance. It’s a thoughtful inclusion that shows how addiction affects not just the individual but also their loved ones.
The steamy scenes in "Diving Into Her" are exactly that—steeeeeeamy. Root knows how to build tension and deliver on the heat, making this a must-read for fans of sizzling romance.
On the audio front, Lilla Green continues to do a great job with her narration. The little extras, like sound effects during texting or changes in sound when characters are on the phone, add a unique touch that enhances the listening experience. Green’s ability to give distinct voices to each character also adds depth to the story, making it even more engaging.
"Diving Into Her" is a wonderful addition to "The French Connection" series, offering a wonderful blend of romance, personal growth, and escapist fantasy. Whether you’re a fan of friends-to-lovers stories, steamy sapphic romances, or just in need of a mental vacation, this book is sure to satisfy. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next installment and more from Alyson Root.

Due to the emotional hangover induced by this book, I'm barely okay enough to write this review but here we go.
House of Crimson Kisses picks up rightDue to the emotional hangover induced by this book, I'm barely okay enough to write this review but here we go.
House of Crimson Kisses picks up right where House of Crimson Hearts left off, and let me tell you, I'm an emotional wreck. This book is a seriously intense read that left me reeling in the best possible way. Ruby Roe has outdone herself with this continuation of Red and Octavia's story.
The trials for the heir of the city have begun, and the stakes have never been higher. Red, our snarky dhampir heroine, is grappling with her growing hunger for blood and the startling truths about her identity. Meanwhile, Octavia Beaumont, one of the original three vampires, is fiercely determined to win the trials and claim control of the city. The tension between them is palpable, and their journey is fraught with danger, betrayal, and unexpected alliances.
Volcanic steam warning—this book is packed with so much sapphic steam, it practically melted my kindle. Roe knows how to write chemistry, and the dynamic between Red and Octavia is electrifying. The explicit BDSM and blood play scenes are intense and incredibly well-written, adding a unique layer to their already complex relationship.
The plot twists are relentless. Just when you think you have a handle on the story, Roe throws another curveball that leaves you gasping. If you think you know what's coming, trust me, you don't. Only Ruby Roe knows, and she's keeping this information on lockdown, clearly enjoying the delicious torture of her readers.
The complexity of the relationships in this book is superbly written. From familial bonds to romantic entanglements and deep friendships, Roe brings these characters to life in all their flawed beauty. The trials themselves are unique and inventive—Roe truly knocked it out of the park with these creative challenges.
And that ending. This book ends on one helluva cliffhanger, and I'm still not okay. I'm still thinking about these characters as I sulk in my emotional hangover. Roe has a knack for leaving readers desperate for more, and this installment is no exception.
Ruby Roe has stated that this series will be available in audio, and you can bet that'll be a one-click for me so hard! If the audiobook is anything like the written version, it's going to be an unforgettable experience. This dark and steamy lesbian vampire romance is not for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, look no further. Ruby Roe has delivered another masterpiece....more

From the first page, I was hooked by James's superb writing style, which effortlessly keeps you engaged throughout the entire story. This sports romance is the perfect blend of steamy and sweet, featuring a fantastic opposites-attract trope with two incredibly different yet compelling main characters.
Khadijah Upton, an organized and focused athletic trainer, finds herself face-to-face with basketball star Shae Harris after a wildly sexy one-night stand. Shae is sweet, sexy, and patient, making it impossible for Khadijah to resist her charms. Their chemistry sizzles both on and off the court, and their dynamic kept me rooting for them from the very beginning.
James's attention to detail, from the songs in the club to the skating rink scene, adds a special touch that makes the book even more endearing. Dijah and Shae's journey is captivating, filled with heartfelt moments and intense passion. The side characters, from Khadijah's supportive family to Shae's loving relatives and the tight-knit team, added depth and relatability to the story, enriching the overall reading experience of this wonderful story.
I was thrilled to discover that this is the start of a series because I absolutely loved Tina and Courtney and can't wait to see their stories unfold. Consider me a loyal fan of the Atlanta Cannons and Meka James! *Love and Sportsball* is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted, steamy sports romance.

The story follows Clara Eden, an academic whose career has centered around the ancient city of Nektopolis and the enigmatic figure of Nektaria. When Clara is offered a job as an archivist by the eccentric estate owner Agatha Montague, she jumps at the chance, only to find herself immersed in a world of Greek mythology, vampires, and sapphic romance.
The narration in the audiobook is excellent, bringing the letters that span hundreds of years to life with vivid and engaging delivery. Listening to these letters added a rich, historical layer to the story, enhancing the overall experience.
One of the standout aspects of this book is its seamless blend of genres. The transition from Greek mythology to vampire lore is handled masterfully, creating a unique and enchanting narrative. The single POV of Clara keeps the story focused and allows readers to deeply connect with her journey and discoveries.
Clara's job opportunity offers her access to invaluable knowledge about Nektopolis, but it comes with the catch of not being able to publish her findings. This twist adds intrigue and tension, especially as Clara's feelings for Fiadh, her employer's assistant, deepen. The growing suspicion about Agatha Montague adds a layer of suspense that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
Anna Burke's writing is captivating and immersive, drawing readers into a world filled with diverse and well-developed characters. The plot is engaging, and I was thoroughly invested in Clara's adventure. My one suggestion is to take the time to read the footnotes throughout the story—they add valuable context and enhance the reading experience.
In the Roses of Pieria is a highly recommended read for anyone who loves fantasy, mythology, and romance. I can't wait for the sequel!...more

This third installment in "The Grace Notes" trilogy delivers a compelling story filled with rich character development, intense chemistry, and heartfelt moments that make it impossible to put down. Ruby Landers' captivating writing style draws you in from the very first page and holds you tight until the last.
Rosalie Carlson, a dedicated social worker who seems to have it all together professionally, is anything but in her personal life. Her close, complicated friendship with megastar Savannah Grace keeps her constantly on her toes. Meanwhile, Kinsey, a young musician trying to find her place in Nashville’s vibrant music scene, is eager to make her mark. When these two women meet, the sparks fly instantly, and their scorching chemistry leaps right off the page.
Landers excels in creating wonderfully diverse characters that are impossible not to love. Kinsey’s confidence in her talent and her deep self-awareness make her a captivating character, drawing readers in with her authenticity and passion. Her journey is one of courage and determination, and it’s impossible not to root for her as she navigates the complexities of love and chasing her dreams. Rosalie, on the other hand, is a great representation of how many women—especially caretakers, advocates, and those in service roles—often prioritize everyone else over themselves. Her reluctance to follow her own advice about self-care and therapy is relatable and adds depth to her character, making her growth throughout the book even more satisfying.
Rosalie's deep love for her sister Rachel adds another layer of emotional depth to the story. Rachel's story arc is incredibly impactful, and the way it unfolds throughout the novel is both heart-wrenching and beautifully crafted. Oh, Rachel... my heart just aches for her. Rachel's presence and impact in Rosalie and Savannah's life and the challenges they face after her loss add a poignant layer to the narrative, highlighting the importance of family and the deep bonds that shape us.
One of the standout elements of "Saving Graces" is the found family Landers has so beautifully crafted. The dual timeline structure, which allows us to see Savannah and Rosalie's friendship grow from the very beginning, is brilliantly executed. It gives new perspective to the previous books and really allows you to see the connection between these friends and how their friendship has ebbed and flowed throughout the years together. The line, "I'll always love you more," resonates deeply, showcasing the strength and enduring nature of their bond. This book is a wonderful example of how friendships build our community and are vital to our lives, offering both support and love in times of need.
Landers does a fantastic job capturing the push and pull between Kinsey and Rosalie, the tension of their initial resistance, and the unfolding of their undeniable attraction. The inner monologue of both characters is so well executed that it allows the reader to deeply understand their fears, desires, and the walls they've built around their hearts. It’s this emotional depth that makes their romance not just believable but genuinely touching.
The continuation of Savannah and Brynn’s HEA and Cassie and Lane’s story adds depth and richness to the narrative, highlighting the strong bonds of friendship, family and love that permeate Landers’ books. The sheer amount of queer love and representation in this series is so beautifyl, and it’s one of the many reasons why I can't get enough of Lander's writing.
The emotional depth of this book goes beyond a typical romance. This is a story of forgiveness, personal growth, and the courage to open up to new possibilities, even when the past has been painful. Rosalie’s resistance to love and her eventual realization that she deserves happiness is a beautifully crafted arc that adds layers to her character and makes her journey all the more rewarding.
And let’s not forget the STUNNING covers of this series that perfectly represent the beautiful stories held inside. They are a visual delight and a stellar representation of the heartfelt love in all it's forms that lies within.
The way Landers ends this book left me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what comes next. I really hope that we're not done with the Graces. I NEED MORE !! Pllllllleeeease can we have more?!
"Saving Graces" is a must-read for anyone who loves a beautiful, diverse, and emotionally rich romance. Ruby Landers has truly outdone herself with this one, delivering a book that is as much about finding oneself as it is about finding love. I devoured it in a day and already can't wait to see what Landers has in store next!
Thank you to Ruby Landers for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. ...more

WhThis is my first Fiona Zedde book and WOW what a sultry read. And if one of the main characters is a powerful madam, could it get more tantalizing? While House of Agnes is an undeniably sexy read, there's so much more to it. Inside the pages, Zedde's skillful narrative keeps you on the edge of your seat. The romance is electric and fraught with tension, pulling you into the whirlwind of emotions experienced by Agnes and Lola. Each twist and turn of their story was well crafted, keeping you glued to the pages (or in my case my earbuds)
Zedde has a talent for creating multi-dimensional characters that add depth to the narrative, pulling the reader deeply invested in their journeys. The blend of suspense and romance is well-balanced in this book.
Having experienced this first round of Zedde’s storytelling, I am excited to read more of her work. Her ability to create such an engaging and suspenseful romance is fantastic. This novel is a must-read for anyone who loves a good romance with a thrilling twist.

I listened to this series back to back and found it to be just a REALLY good series that explores queer romance in a small-town in the midwest and some of the challenges that are still presented in this area of the country.
The story is set in a small town in Missouri, where Ashley and Sasha find themselves working together for the town's first lesbian wedding. Despite their initial impression of each other and their differences, they soon discover a deep connection that draws them closer together.
One of the most compelling aspects of the book is Ashley's journey towards self-acceptance. Her fear of coming out and the potential repercussions for her family and business are portrayed with raw emotion, making her character both relatable and in the end, inspiring. Sasha's patience and kindness towards Ashley add depth to their relationship, highlighting the importance of understanding but also understanding boundaries and knowing what you do and don't want in relationship dynamics.
Jae's writing is engaging and heartfelt, with rich character development that brings Ashley, Sasha, and the town of Fair Oaks to life. The themes of bakery romance and foodie delights provide a delightful backdrop to the story, adding to the overall charm of the narrative. Did I crave baked goods the whole time I listened to this book?? Yes, yes I did.
I loved seeing Holly and Leo living out their HEA in this book. There's a lot of healing from the harshness of life in this book from past transgressions and hurts to heavy losses. Jae does an incredible job with these real-life, real-world circumstances and weaves them into fiction in a digestible fashion as a relatable portrayal of the healing journey.
I particularly enjoyed Angela Dawe's narration of this book, which was fantastic. Her voice brought the characters to life and added an extra layer of emotion to the story.

Her writing continues to astound me as I make my way through her backlist of titles. This is a fantastic slow-burn romance. Arias did an amazing job with this unique storyline. Whenever You’re Ready by Rachel Runya Katz is an emotional road trip of reconnection, healing, and self-discovery. The story follows childhood best frWhenever You’re Ready by Rachel Runya Katz is an emotional road trip of reconnection, healing, and self-discovery. The story follows childhood best friends Nia and Jade, who have been estranged for three years after the death of their mutual best friend, Michal. With Michal’s twin brother Jonah along for the ride along with a precious pup sidekick, the group sets out on a road trip rooted in southern Jewish history, confronting not only their unresolved grief but also the tension and desire that has been simmering between Nia and Jade for years.
There’s a lot to love about this book. The road trip aspect is especially engaging, with well-described settings that make you feel like you're visiting these historical places with the characters. I particularly appreciated how the novel infused real Jewish history into the journey—I love to come across a romance novel that also educates you along the way. This blend of history and personal exploration added a meaningful layer to the story, and it’s great to see representation of Black, Jewish, and queer characters throughout.
The slow-burn romance between Nia and Jade was one of the standout aspects for me. I love to see a romance that takes its time to build tension and emotion. There’s so much unspoken history and longing between these two characters, and Katz does a solid job portraying their complicated dynamic as they work through their past and the possibility of something more.
However, I had a few issues with the pacing of the story. The novel starts off quite slow, and with so many key elements of the characters' backstories left unexplained at first, it made it difficult to emotionally connect to the trip or the characters themselves. Nia and Jade, while interesting, felt somewhat indistinct from each other at times. The switching points of view didn’t help much with differentiating their voices or deepening the understanding of their motivations, which made it a bit hard to get fully invested in their personal journeys.
That said, Whenever You’re Ready is still a touching narrative about grief, friendship, and love. Katz’s exploration of how relationships can evolve—whether it’s between friends, siblings, or lovers—is emotional and heartfelt. While it wasn’t a perfect read for me, it’s a promising addition to Katz’s work, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a thoughtful, diverse romance with a focus on healing and connection.

This book was phenom! - Okay, I'm back. Whew. It's taken me a minute to review this book b/c life got busy but this book stuck with me. This is an incredible debut novel from Ruby Landers. I'm honestly in awe that this is a debut. When I first read the synopsis about a lesbian "fake marriage" to her male bestie, I wasn't really sure I was in the mood for that kind of story but I'm oh so glad that I jumped in. This book made me laugh, made me cry, and made me so frustrated I was ready to throw things across the room. I'm so lucky I had a friend reading this at the same time (@Lez_be_readin_ya - check out her review too) because I NEEDED someone to talk to about this book. Landers had so many feelings bubbling up out of my chest that I couldn't function, literally, for a whole day while I devoured this book. This is an ANGSTY SLOW BURN NOVEL. When I say slow burn, bundle up kids, because we're watching this fire start from the woodchopping stage all the way through to the blaze of this sapphic fire. It's so freaking good.
Savannah and Brynn are such incredible characters. Their magnetic pull to each other is so incredibly strong. There's something about celebrity romances for me right now - I'm all in. I can't seem to get enough of the behind-the-scenes storylines. Landers did an amazing job with everything from the songwriting sessions to the recordings to the tour - it felt so authentic every step of the way. I adored how Brynn was with Savannah's son. He was such a light for Savannah and a wonderful connection between the two MC's.
For me, this book was a romance, yes, but it was also about healing. Healing childhood traumas and healing wounds from a relationship that was nothing like we thought it was. I really valued the healing journey that each of these characters took together and apart. Landers took an interesting approach to boundaries and respect that you don't often see in the genre and romance. She took a chance and it absolutely paid off, in my opinion. It was a refreshing take on space and forgiveness that was heartwrenching to read but also felt very necessary and healthy.
I'm beyond ready for the next two installments of the Grace Notes. This book was just absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves a slowburn romance novel. This was such a refreshing unique read for me.

Okay, well days later, I'm still reeling from this book. Ruby Roe knocked it out of the park with this one. "A Steamy Vampire Fantasy Romance Novel" - jeeeez - what an understatement. I'm so just... stupified by this book. Okay okay okay - Let's get to it. Vampires, Vampire Hunters, Witches, Magic, a QUEST- all the things. This is a beautifully fast-paced, brilliantly written dark fantasy novel. It's the PERFECT blend of sapphic steam, suspense, adventure, and mystery. I loved watching these flawed, morally gray characters, incredibly sexy characters dance the line between love and hate. Roe has an incredible talent for writing characters that are so multifaceted and layered, that you can't stop thinking about them. This is a multiple-POV story with a dual timeline. For most of this book, we follow Octavia and Red as they fight and f*ck each other around Sangui City. Octavia is a born vampire and Red is a fierce vampire hunter with a vendetta against Octavia herself. Threads of the book follow Cordelia, one of the oldest vampires and Octavia's mother. These glimpses into the past are building something epic, I can feel it. When Cordelia announces there's a threat to the city, alliances are formed with those who were once enemies, and challenges are set forth to aid in the protection of the city. This thrusts our two rivals onto the same team. Octavia and Red are now forced to work together, leading to so many erotic encounters, I can't even pick a favorite. The tension and chemistry between these two are delicious. The connection they share is white-hot. Secondary to the story of Red and Octavia, we get glimpses of Cordelia's past. I adore a good villain origin story and Cordelia remains a mystery to me but I'm sooooo intrigued about her past and what made her the way she is.
Roe did an amazing job weaving an intense story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, packed with emotional upheaval, adventure, and eroticism throughout this book. It was simply flawless.
This book ends on a cliffhanger and I'll just be real - I'm not okay. I need the next part of this story like I need my cat to love me. I'm desperate.
It took everything in me to pace this book and not finish it in 24 hours. I wanted so much for this book to last forever....more

Taylor is a free spirit, traveling the world and indulging in spontaneity whereas Raquel is controlled and in charge of her life, taking care of her ailing father and teaching at a university. They're a perfect opposites-attract couple. Watching Taylor thaw the Ice Queen was intensely pleasurable. I mean I was giddy through this whole book. Taylor's friends were hysterical. I mean I could absolutely run with that crowd. There were so many laugh-out-loud moments at the high school reunion. That's one of the things I think I love most about the work I've read from JJ. Her characters speak to me on a whole different level. I could legit be friends with these characters. I'm beyond excited that I've found this author and her backlist is so long because I'm obsessed with JJ Arias!...more

Jae + Lori Prince are a phenomenal team delivering this WONDERFUL sapphic slow-burn romance!! Jae is a solid author who writes incredible, relatable characters. Each book of hers I've read has been so heartfelt and the MCs have such meaningful connections. Regina is our ice queen and OMG does she thaw for Ellie. Ellie is so incredibly lovely and warm and caring and Regina just doesn't know how to navigate that. Jae wrote this book so well and I just really love the depth of this romance. It's been a while since a slow-burn got me this enamored and the payoff was soooo worth it. This book was the perfect blend of humor (the twinkie and lava cake made me giggle so much ) and seriousness. I laughed and my heart hurt and it was just beautiful. Lori Prince - as usual- is stellar at bringing these characters to life. I love listening to her narrate these wonderful wlw stories. She's fantastic!
Thank you to Jae, YLVA and Netgalley for a copy of this audiobook...more
Well, I didn’t succeed... I tried really hard to savor Losing Control and pace myself. I was really good at first. Just a chapter at a time, and then Well, I didn’t succeed... I tried really hard to savor Losing Control and pace myself. I was really good at first. Just a chapter at a time, and then I failed. I binged the whole damn thing. I couldn't put it down, Dammit. Like shoved it in my face, ignored all my "to dos" on Sunday binged it. It was so freaking good. Now I'm just over here... not wanting to leave the Dominion universe and next month is too far away and I'm just pouting like the overdramatic Scorpio that I am. So that's cool. Anyway, It was amazing. There are so many things I love about this book. I'm relatively new to this author but Arias' writing is as unique as it is relatable. The slow-burn chemistry between these characters is phenomenal. She has a talent for writing very natural dialog and banter between her characters that just sucks you into this story. She's able to carve out a wonderful sense of humor and balance it with an intense connection with a depth in her characters that keeps you turning the page. These two MC's were a slight age gap and an opposites-attract pairing that had you enthralled from Chapter 1. I loved that Adriana was 38. l love reading mature sapphic characters and them falling in love. So many romances are centered around new adults (which is great) but sometimes can get a little redundant. I love love loooove reading about mature sapphics and seeing fully developed characters still growing and learning in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. I respect that the conflicts in her stories are of a deeper and more complex nature that doesn't result in a third-act breakup. It's such a refreshing change from a typical romance read. I cannot WAIT for the rest of this series!!
