It was a unique premise....until it wasn't.

I had some hope at first with the interesting way it started at the slave auction. I was like oh my, will this have the world building of daughter of no worlds? Could it be? Nope. But hey, at least it wasn't a fated Mates story right?
Well....right. but there was so little effort put into making the relationship bloom, it might as well should have been. I love romance, and one of my biggest pet peeves are stories about fated mates. Not because they are always bad, but the author tends to more easily rely on the "fated bond" to carry the romance rather than the chemistry and interactions themselves. It's lazy writing to me. First of all, I hate insta-lust. Its lazy to me. There is no build up, no story, and I can never get into it.
The age gap - while usually I'm fine with it- because you know, it's a fictional story, made the insta lust even creepier and I just couldn't. Especially with a certain unconscious undressing seen.
The writing just felt off. Like the way the MMC talked her big talk and MMC was just like well into my bed TO A STUDENT .
