Alice is a human pretty much immune to vampire control who can hold her own in a fight. This combination makes her the perfect candidate to work with the vampires. However, having feelings for her partner, who she knows could have a harem of women at his disposal, wasn't part of the plan. Having a rough childhood has made Alice ensure she gives off a rough, tough vibe, but inside is the heart of a woman who wants love and can't deny a stray dog.
Hunter has been in love with Alice for 25 months (I'm pretty sure he gives her the exact time down to minutes), but she rebukes his flirting and gives off a "I don't care" vibe. After an undercover mission the line that they drew between each other is now blurred and Hunter can no longer hide his feelings.
With a little help from a recently taken in stray and one over confident vampire Hunter finally admits his feelings. But will Alice believe in him and take the chance to have love and a happy future?

Lucia is on the run from human hunters after they attacked and killed majority of her pack.
Luther Knight, the alpha of the Knight pack, along with his "brothers" Billy, Ryan, Noah, & Luke all live in an isolated area where their families before them. When Lucia literally runs right into them they discover she's all 5 of their mates.
So, although this was an okay read, I had a few issues with it. My first, if you're going to give me a menage book, it'd be nice if I could read from the different perspectives. With this one we only get Lucia and Luther, and while Lucia gets sexy times with all the men, it seems that only Luther is privileged to have "alone" sexy time with her because he's alpha. I also thought Lucia's ultimatum was a bit dramatic. She knows Luther is an alpha and believes it's his role to take care of his pack. It was a bit stupid to ask an alpha male to never protect his family.

As a world-renowned surgeon, she’s worked non-stop and has seen and experienced the bad that has come with the job. Traveling with her sister to the coast has her re-examining her life choices and trying to establish if she needs find something else to do with her life.
Adam Whitfield is finally getting his life put together. He purchased his grandparents house and after months is just now getting around to furnishing it. He’s content to be a rancher and farmer and was happy as single man living in a house that should house a family. However, the Whitfield family have different ideas for Adam. Finally convincing him to meet the new “passing” doctor in town has Adam’s life changing. He’s finally found his mate, but what’s a rancher like him going to give to somebody as talented as Ivy?
Overall, this book would probably get about 3.5 stars from me. Unlike other Kathi books that I have read, Ivy doesn’t come to the family with trouble following her. However, for the Whitfield family trouble just seems to find them. There’s a rogue vampire that is determined to use the family to extract revenge, false paternity claims, and blackmail of the family members. My only issue is there were a few times that the author kept bringing up the fact that Ivy house was burnt down by a grieving father, but there was never any mention of a resolution besides the insurance paying. What happened to the man? Why was he grieving over his son’s death but not the rest of the family?

The vile things she had to put up with from her mother and sisters growing up and even after leaving the house and trying to distance herself from them.
It's been years since Micky found her fiance took his life just days before they were to be married. She blamed herself, as the note left behind blamed her for him killing himself. Moving to a small town in Ohio she was determined to distance herself from her "family" and to just live out her days alone without having to worry about anyone getting hurt or killed because of her.
Lucas had a scare after being shot and placed in the hospital. Although he'd recently become immortal his doctor has a point when she said what's the point of being immortal if he doesn't enjoy life? So now he's determined to delegate projects to his family and assistant, eat healthier as well as enjoy food, and if he happens to find a mate he'll make sure she knows she's appreciated.
Just as Micky was determined to pack up and leave to hide once again from her family, her newest health-nut customer is claiming she's his mate. Lucas has his work cut out with Micky. She's determined to keep everyone at arms length to prevent them from being harmed. Lucas is also going to have to show Micky that not everyone is out to get something from her and that not all of humanity is as vile as her family.

The reverse age gap was fine, which sometimes depending on the book and the way the author writes just doesn't do it for me. But I just couldn't connect with these characters or get over the constant repeat of how the FMC was the boring old hag because she refused to engage in casual sexual encounters. Also, can we just talk about the reasoning behind why Joe left to begin with? It was said he left to make his way when he "stood up" to the alpha, but given how he is when he comes back you'd never guess Joe is supposed to be the next alpha! Overall, this book is a pass for me. Many in this series are instant one-clicks for me, and I am constantly going back to reread them. But this will not be one of those.

If I had any kind of complaint on this story it would be not addressing why Allie's sister said the Prince family is the one that taught her to shoot. Allie had asked but it seemed to be ignored each time. I guess I would've liked to know if they did teach her not knowing what she would become or why Serenity would've said this about the family.

Because I gotta tell ya, I had just as many annoyances reading this one as I did with the first. I think Clay being the more shy reserved, nerdy brother is what kept be so invested to finish this series. After an awkward encounter where Clay inadvertently insults Bethany, he has to find a way to make it up to his mate. Because he and his bear can't stand that their mate thinks of her as anything other than a goddess and blessing. But technology is where Clay thrives, so he chooses to use his greatest asset to his advantage to get Bethany to talk to him and understand what happened. Bethany knew that the bears of Honey Pot Hollow weren't exactly welcoming of 3 human women moving to town. But she never thought the one man she found attractive right off the bat would be one to not welcome her. However, even she can't help but thaw when Clay tells her the reason for his freeze-up when they first met.
So while this was an okay read for me I got to talk about my issues with it. First, the synopsis...is nobody going to mention how it's confusing for the reader when it says 'CORA' instead of Bethany? My second issue I just couldn't understand why Bethany and Clay wanted to keep their relationship and mating a secret? Like let's be honest had it happened with the other two sisters, Bethany would've been upset and mad because they all claim to be so close and there are no secrets between them. ...more

If you read the first round of books that were released in this series, you should remember Jace and Dakota. Caroline is Jace and Dakota's first born daughter. I absolutely loved both Caroline and Dell. Both have felt like outsiders, in their own way, living in Screaming Woods. But whereas Caroline had her family to keep her grounded and surrounded by love, Dell was left alone with nothing but his resentment and anger to fester for 20+ years. The way Caroline goes about showing Dell that he wasn't forgotten like he was so sure he was was so amazing. I'm glad that Dell also came to realize that he also played a part in his being 'forgotten' after the chaos of that Halloween night.
