Allison Sheppard had come back to town to bury her siblings. Allie’s sister and two brothers had robbed the local bank. Samson Prince had killed two of them to protect the innocent people in the bank, her baby brother was sitting in a jail cell awaiting trial. Allie wanted to wash her hands of all of them. It didn’t take Allie but a moment to realize that the entire town looked on her as a pariah, like she was responsible for what her siblings did. Not that she could blame them, but the silent accusations did hurt. The sooner she was finished with this mess, the better. She would leave this town and good riddance. Samson only wanted to make the woman understand that they weren’t monsters, and he had no choice in the bank, but from the moment he was within two feet of her, her scent overwhelmed him. Allie was his mate, and this changed everything….

Samson hated banks but he was the one making the deposit. Standing in line behind a woman, who he thought was cradling a child, turned out to be a notorious bank robber. When, what he thought was a child, turned out to be a gun Samson knew he had to do something before her and her two brothers killed everyone in the bank as promised. Allison washed her hands of the three siblings the day her parents had died but when the police called her wanting her to identify her brother and sister, she knew she had no choice. Once again, Kathi S. Barton has weaved a storyline that is absolutely spellbinding. The Queen of Nature needs help, getting to know the fairies and their personalities, the drama of the bank robbery, murder, and tested loyalties all make this book one that flows. Oh, let's not forget the vampires. There are two questions now that are lingering that haven't been answered yet. I want to know who the wolf was at the old Wilson 'house of horrors' and who the bear is. I'm hoping those get answered in Fisher's story. We'll see.
Samson meets his mate in the sister of the three bank robbers. Allie, has a chip on her shoulder, but it is only to protect herself. She quickly thaws under her new families love and support. Her sociopathic brother Howie, may only be 15, he is very smart and very clever. He is drumming up support. There is a possibility that he may be able to escape jail time. Allie is seem in many eye as a heartless sister. She has her family and her vampire friends in her side. Then there are the 3 teen girls in need of help. Allie and Samson, have a big house and a lot of love to share. Looking forward to the next book.
The story between Samson and Alli was filled with love and caring for each other without one being more pushy that the other. I fell in love with the girls and how they were added to the family. But most of all I enjoyed the lack of the F*#%* word.
I've enjoyed book 2 much better then I thought I would. I love this supernatural world this series takes place in . Looking forward to the rest of the Brothers stories.
Allison Sheppard never held out much hope for her siblings. Her brother and sister were known thieves and bank robbers. When her youngest brother joined in on the fun and killed her parents she wiped her hands clean of them. At least she hoped, until she gets a phone call from her younger brother Howie begging to come and help him out of the bind he now finds himself in. But for Allie she's not returning to help him. If anything she's coming back to their little town to help the prosecution make sure he never walks a free man...even if he is only 15.
Samson unfortunately was in the bank the day the Sheppard siblings tried to rob and kill everyone inside. He was the one to take down Allie's siblings. When the Prince family discovers Allie will be returning they want to make peace with her, even if she already has some misconstrued idea of the family. When he first meets Allie he knows what she is to him, but now he's got to help her get through all the family drama she is going through and convince her that his family isn't monsters like she seems to think they are.
If I had any kind of complaint on this story it would be not addressing why Allie's sister said the Prince family is the one that taught her to shoot. Allie had asked but it seemed to be ignored each time. I guess I would've liked to know if they did teach her not knowing what she would become or why Serenity would've said this about the family.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**
Second book in this new series it started out good and it keeps getting better. Allison is pretty much shunned by everyone bc of her bad family there is a lot of drama. She does meet a really good handsome tiger though. It a different kind of plot then I am use to and a good one I really liked it "I read a advanced copy for a honest review"
