I thought this was a heartwarming YA contemporary with an absolutely wonderful message. It's a lot about growing into who you are instead of giving into peer pressure and going along with what others are doing, resisting toxic masculinity, and how friendship is not lesser than romance and great friendships are a once in a lifetime thing you should value and treasure....more

I absolutely flew through this and I thought it was such a sweet romance. Both characters have a heavier backstory, and I loved seeing them find comfort in each other. Plus I always love a found family element! I have Falon's other books on my Kindle, so I'm excited to read those soon as well!...more

This was such an intriguing mystery; the friend group and setting all worked so well.
Stevie's story... I didn't enjoy that much. It entirely surrounded David, whom I dislike, and I felt like every thought she had that wasn't about the murders was about him. I understand that this book only spanned about a week, and I get that Stevie was in a tough mental space. But I feel like we got nowhere with her story in this book. The ending is very open though, so let's hope there will be a sequel!...more

This novella again felt like a fully fleshed out novel, which is so fun. The romance was a little slower to start but this gave a lot of room to the small town atmosphere and interacting with lots of interesting side characters. I also thought the main characters were both really interesting, especially Carey with their visible mending work, which sounded super creative....more

This was a great start! The writing was really good and kept me very invested in the story, and I loved the family dynamics between Gina and her great-aunt and her niece, as well as the small town dynamics that Marek just so easily fell into as well. The epilogue was especially lovely and made me so soft. Being a novella, this felt like a fully fleshed out novel, which is impressive to me....more

I do think the MC's backstory was pretty unclear for the most part, and I wished at times that she would just TALK to the love interest. I looove that this follows an already established couple, who were absolutely wonderful together. It was lovely to see them grow even closer together, and there were so many sweet moments. It might just be one of the best nonfiction books I've ever read. To me, this is the way history should be approached. It was so interesting, so nuanced, so respectful, and so informative. As a non-binary person, it was amazing learning about all this trans history I wasn't previously aware of....more
